Noboru Obata, Hitachi, LtdNoboru Obata is a kernel engineer at Hitachi, Ltd. in Japan. He leads a team for kernel RAS enhancement. His primary interest is to analyze a system failure precisely and quickly by collecting enough debugging information on a failure. Since he started programming in BASIC language and Z80 assembly language at ten years old, Noboru had been attracted to the efficient algorithms and implementations. He received M.S. degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, with a study of cache efficient version of STL algorithms. He became interested in the Linux kernel because of its openness, efficient implementation, and imperfectness. That led him to be involved in Linux kernel enhancement as a job. Noboru is now developing a FFDC (First Failure Data Capture) solution based on kdump and SystemTap for his customer. He has several speaking experiences about his area at technical conferences.Presentation(s) Analyzing Kernel Behavior With SystemTap |
