ZABBIX - An Enterprise-Class Open Source Distributed Monitoring Solution

Kodai Terashima, Zabbix SIA

The talk involves an overview of Zabbix: its history, functionality and an outline of the features planned for Zabbix 1.8. The architectural and technical aspects of Zabbix will be covered in order to show what makes Zabbix an attractive solution suitable for performance, availability and business level monitoring of large-scale distributed environments. A special accent will be put on Zabbix capabilities when monitoring large IT environments, and the audience will be given an opportunity to learn about possible performance issues and ways how to avoid them as well as ensuring high availability of the solution. Even in Japanese market Zabbix is gradually accepted to monitor servers. Due to the increase of the numbers of users, ZABBIX-JP and MIRACLE LINUX have been requested to translate Japanese and multibyte characters which are unique. Japanese necessities are valuable. The directions of further development and future features of the product will also be discussed.
