FAQ

How do I register to attend?
Please click on the register tab on the event website to register yourself.

How do I pay for the event?
We accept payments through PayPal or Google Checkout. You are not required to have an account to process your payment through either of these. They both accept the following majore credit cards as well: MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

Is there a registration deadline?
There is not a registration deadline, but the event is limited to a maximum number of people, so we encourage you to register early to secure your space.

What is your cancellation policy?
Reimbursements will only be made for cancellations received by September 15, 2009. You must contact us via email at events (at) linuxfoundation dot org to cancel. Any cancellations received after that date will not be reimbursed. You can substitute another attendees with prior approval.

Where is the event located?
The event is located at the Akihabara Conference Hall in the Akihabara District of Tokyo, Japan.

Where should I stay?
We are currently securing room blocks at nearby hotels for summit attendees. Please check back soon for updated information.

Will the event include meals?
Coffee Breaks are included on all conference and training days. Breakfast and lunch are on your own. There are a number of restaurants located near the conference venue. Please visit the registration desk for a map and list of restaurants. We will also be holding an evening reception on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Please check back soon for more information.

I am interested in Sponsoring the event, who should I contact? If you are interested in sponsoring, please contact us at events (at) linuxfoundation dot org.

May I bring guests?
Many participants will be traveling from afar and may want to travel with companions not attending the event. Please note that since this event is for registered conference attendees only, guests, family and children are not allowed at any conference sessions or any special events.

When do you recommend I arrive and depart?
When booking your flights, you should plan to arrive on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 in order to not miss any conference sessions. Conference sessions will end at 5:30pm each day.

Where do I book my hotel accommodations?
Please go to the Travel & Hotel tab at the top of the event website to book your hotel room.

What can I expect in terms of the weather in Tokyo and how should I plan for attire?
Still warm, but not hot and humid anymore, the weather in October is very comfortable for traveling. Check out: www.weather.com and select 10-Day Forecast for the conference dates.

What can I expect in terms of the evening events?
