The Linux Foundation has secured a room block and discounted room rates at this hotel and encourages you to stay on-site to take full advantage of the conference. Make Your Hotel Reservation Online Now If the Renaissance room block is full when you make your reservation, we are please to offer you a secondary option at the Embassy Suites Boston/Logan Airport. The group rate is $169/night which includes breakfast and internet. Please note that this hotel is not within walking distance of the Renaissance. You will need to either take a taxi or the Silver Line bus to reach the Renaissance.
Embassy Suites Boston/Logan Airport $169/night plus applicable taxes Make Your Hotel Reservation Online Now Transportation – Air and GroundThe Renaissance is located on the waterfront, right across the bay from Logan Airport. You can easily take the MBTA "Silver Line" directly from the airport to the hotel. Signage outside of baggage claim at the airport will clearly point you to the Silver Line stop. Be sure to purchase your ticket ($2) before getting on the bus. The bus ride to the hotel is about 10 minutes - exit at the Silver Line Way stop directly across from the hotel. You can also take a taxi, which will cost about $25-30. Please visit the Renaissance Boston Waterfront website for more information. The Silver Line also takes you directly to the South Station (for trains and subway stops) which can connect you to the rest of Boston. If you plan to travel around the city on the bus and/or subway, it is advisable to get a "LinkPass" which gives you unlimited rides on the bus or "T" subways trains for a week for $15: http://www.mbta.com/fares_and_passes/passes/
Parking at the Renaissance Valet parking is available onsite at the hotel for $40/day. There are also several other options within a few blocks, including: Seaport Hotel Garage, 200 Northern Ave - $19 for up to 10 hours Pilgrim Street Lot, 390 Congress St. - $11/day Getting to the Renaissance from the Embassy Suites If you are staying at the Embassy Suites, you can take the complimentary hotel shuttle. Look for signs for the hotel shuttles at the airport. To get to the Renaissance from the Embassy Suites, you will need to take the hotel shuttle back to the airport, and then take the Silver Line bus to Silver Line Way - the Renaissance is directly across the street. This can take up to 30 minutes so it is advisable to take a taxi, which will cost about $25-30. Evening EventsMonday, August 9th - LinuxCon Speaker Reception Open to LinuxCon speakers only. Tuesday, August 10th - LinuxCon Opening Reception Join us at Lucky Strike Lanes for the Bowling for Penguins opening reception at LinuxCon 2010. You do not need to bowl to attend. Those folks that want to join the bowling competition can sign up their teams on-site at LinuxCon on Tuesday at the Information & Activities Desk. If you don't want to bowl, that's okay! We will have drinks, food and fun available for all attendees. Sit and chat with your friends, play some pool, watch the bowling fun....a great way to wind down and get ready for an exciting week! Wednesday, August 11th - LinuxCon Boston Harbor Cruise - Sponsored by Intel What a great way to enjoy Boston! Hop aboard to enjoy conversation and beautiful views of this amazing city. Food and drinks will be provided. Please note that the cruise can only hold 400 people. If you want to attend this event, you need to visit the Information & Activities Desk to pick up a 'Boarding Card' - we advise you to do this early on Tuesday to reserve your spot. Food and Beverage
