Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit 2013 | FAQ

1. Where is the event located?

The event is located at Parc 55 Wyndham Hotel in San Francisco, CA.

2. How do I register to attend?

This is an invitation-only event, but we encourage everyone to request an invitation to attend. Please request an invitation and we will process it within 10 business days to let you know if your request has been accepted.

3. What is the registration fee?

There is no registration fee to attend this event, however we do ask for credit card information on the registration form for a no-show fee. Please note that your card will not be charged unless you are approved to attend, confirm you are attending, and then do not show up to the conference.

4. Is there a registration deadline?

There is not a registration deadline, but the summit is limited on the number of people that can attend, so if you are interested in attending, we encourage you to request an invitation as early as possible.

5. What if I need to cancel; can someone else attend in my place?

If you need to cancel, and would like to substitute someone else in your place, please contact us at events (at) linuxfoundation dot org for approval.

6. May I bring guests?

Many participants will be traveling from afar and may want to travel with companions not attending the event. Please note that since the event is for registered attendees only, guests, family and children are not allowed at any conference sessions or any special events.

7. Where should I stay?

We have a room block at Parc 55 Hotel available for attendees with low room rates of $169/night. Please visit the Hotel & Travel page for reservation information.

8. When do you recommend I arrive and depart?

If you are coming from out of town, you should plan to arrive to the Parc 55 on Sunday, April 14 so you don’t miss any of the sessions that start on Monday morning. The program will end around 5:30pm on Wednesday, April 17.

9. What can I expect in terms of the weather in San Francisco and how should I plan for attire?

April is one of the most inviting months to visit San Francisco. Characteristically cloudless and mild, some of the warmest and driest days of the year occur in San Francisco's spring months. Check out www.weather.com and select 10-Day Forecast for the conference dates. The attire for the event is business casual. Plan to dress in layers, to ensure you are warm or cool enough for the weather/meeting rooms.

10. Are meals included?

Continental breakfast, Lunch and Coffee Breaks are included on all conference days.

11. What can I expect in terms of the evening events?

On Monday, April 15 there will be an evening reception at the Julia Morgan Ballroom directly following the conference. Drinks and dinner will be served, and bus transportation will be provided.

12. Does Linux Foundation have a anti-harassment/anti-discrimination policy for their events?

Yes, it's important for us that people feel welcome. You can read our simple yet friendly policy.

13. How can I sponsor Collaboration Summit?
