Getting Your Money's Worth Out Of Ultra-High Performance SSDs: Performance Enhancement of the Storage & File System in Linux

Recent advances in very high speed SSD devices, specifically those packaged onto pci-e cards, have presented challenges for both the Linux storage stack and Linux file systems. This talk will give an overview of ongoing work on addresses current limitations and talk briefly about performance results.

 


Jens Axboe, Fusion-IO

Jens works on most things IO related in the Linux kernel, predominantly in the block IO core subsystem and IO scheduling where he is the maintainer. Jens is currently a principal engineer at Fusion-IO, dividing his time between community Linux kernel work and the core team at Fusion-IO.
