T-Mobile store (STOCK)

T-Mobile is just days away from flipping the switch on its 4G LTE network, and we're now getting an idea of what cities the carrier is targeting for launch. OpenSignal, an Android app that uses crowdsourced data to locate areas of ideal wireless coverage, has detected T-Mobile's LTE signal running in eight US cities. The company has already said it plans to bring service to Kansas City and Las...

HTC One to arrive in the US by late April, just as the Galaxy S4 launches

HTC One back (875px)

The HTC One will finally begin rolling out next week, at least in the UK, Germany and Taiwan. Buyers in Europe, North America and "most of" the Asia-Pacific can expect to see the device launch before the end of April, according to an update HTC provided today. HTC's new shipping timeframe comes just days after reports suggested component constraints were to blame for the handset's delay in getting to market. UDIDs, which identify a specific phone or piece of hardware, fell out of favor as...

Jony Ive reportedly pushing 'flat design' in a newly collaborative environment at Apple

Jony Ive

Late last October, iOS VP Scott Forstall left Apple and Jony Ive assumed the role of human interface manager across the entire company — including iOS, which some feel is in major need of a design refresh. Now, several months after that executive shake-up, The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple's software and hardware design teams have indeed gotten closer and are collaborating in ways that mark a pretty major change at a company...

Future Windows Phone speech recognition revealed in leaked video

Windows Phone speech recognition

Microsoft has had speech recognition in Windows Phone since it first debuted, but it looks like the company is preparing a fairly significant upgrade. In a leaked video from Microsoft's TechFest earlier this month, the research team demonstrates speech recognition speed and accuracy improvements, and a new "streaming mode" that can be enabled to allow Windows Phone users to search while they speak.

It looks similar to Android's latest...
