Sign-Up For Free LinuxCon Japan Mini-Workshop on Open Source Compliance

The Linux Foundation has just announced a comprehensive program to help organizations meet their compliance responsibilities simply and straightforwardly whenever they incorporate open source in their products. A key element of the program will be new training courses to guide companies in defining and implementing their own compliance processes. Half-day, one-day and two-day versions of the courses will be offered for a fee on-site at company facilities to communicate compliance requirements, essential practices, and ways to handle compliance challenges. Course details and registration form can be found at http://www.linuxfoundation.org/programs/legal/compliance/training-and-education.

To promote the training and provide a preview of content, The Linux Foundation will offer a free two-hour mini-workshop on open source compliance. Conducted by Dr. Philip Koltun, Director, Open Compliance Program, the presentation will focus on the core compliance processes of open source disclosure and discovery, review and approval, and satisfaction of obligations. Dr. Koltun will discuss basic practices, implementation issues, and tools available to assist in execution of these processes.

The mini-workshop will be offered on September 28, 2010 from 1:50 pm to 3:45 pm. Attendance will be limited to the first 20 who register. To sign up, please go to https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dEJzUkRjTWFKbXlqWENHaTFWWFp1MGc6MQ#gid=0.
