'LinuxCon or Bust' Bus Trip to Vancouver (Pick-ups in Corvallis, Portland and Seattle)

For the first time this year, we are pleased to offer attendees from the Corvallis, Portland and Seattle areas the opportunity to take the "LinuxCon or Bust" Bus to LinuxCon in Vancouver. 

Your LinuxCon registration form will offer you the option to sign-up for the bus trip.  The bus departs the morning of Monday, August 15th and will leave Vancouver the morning of Saturday, August 20th.  The cost for a round-trip ticket is US$100.

Pick-up Schedule and Locations (Final information will be emailed to those attendees registered to take the bus one week prior to the event)

Corvallis: Kerr Administration Building at OSU.  The bus will pick-up at 8:00am on Monday, August 15th

Portland: Station Place Parking Garage located at the corner of NW 9th and Lovejoy (.2 miles from Union Station).  Parking is available for $6/day at the garage.  The bus will pick-up at 9:45am on Monday, August 15th. 

Seattle: If we have anybody in Seattle that would like to take the bus, we will determine a pick-up location.

The bus should arrive in Vancouver around 5:00pm, and will stop at the Hyatt Vancouver and at the YWCA Hotel.  The bus driver will have all necessary immigration forms and often does bus trips across the Canadian border, so it should be a very smooth process. The bus does have a restroom and does not have internet access.  Don't forget your passport!

Transportation – Air

Fly in to the Vancouver International Airport, with direct flights to over 100 cities worldwide.

Transportation - Ground

SkyTrain - Use the Canada Line to get directly from the airport to the Hyatt. Trains depart every 7 minutes (peak) or 15 minutes (off-peak).  Puchase the 2-zone fare (cost is CAD$3.75 + a $5 departure fee from the airport).  Take the Canada Line to the Vancouver City Centre stop.  Exit on to Georgia Street and go left on Georgia Street.  Walk two blocks up Georgia Street and make a right on Burrard Street.  The Hyatt will be on your left side.

Hyatt Regency Vancouver offers several parking options for our guests:

Valet Parking Cost: $36.00/CAD per day plus taxes

Self Parking Cost: $28.00/CAD per day plus taxes

Parking charges include in / out privileges.

The parking is underground, with a clearance of six feet. If you are bringing a vehicle with a higher clearance, please contact our Concierge for additional parking options.

Food and Beverage

Continental Breakfast and morning/afternoon coffee breaks are complimentary for LinuxCon attendees. Attendees are on own for lunch. There are an assortment of dining choices surrounding the hotel.
