It's a challenge for me for sure - running a company while being on active duty.  But, I like challenges.  I enjoy serving in both domains, military and civilian.  I took my three core values instilled in me as a very young man by the United States Air Force:

1.  Integrity First

2.  Service Before Self

3.  Excellence in all we do

With 8 years of military management experience, schooling, and training I formed My Tech Team.  This is a very popular and extremely fast growing service in the local area (Shreveport/Bossier/Arklatex Region).  I hope to be able to take on the big names such as Geek Squad one day.  But I must admit, it's a HUGE challenge.  With little time and a limited budget, we can't grown like we know we can!  But, hey, maybe I should go cry somewhere else, right.  :D

At any rate, I'm posting this to let those veterans and active duty personnel know that it is possible, but it's a fine balance.  If you are in the same situation or contemplating the challenges of business as a veteran or active duty, please feel free to contact me or post here with any questions.

Jason,

First...thank you for your service!  Your academic and entrepreneurial pursuits are admirable.  Well done!  As a veteran, I know how tough it is to go to school while on active duty...much less try to start up a business also.

Best wishes for every success!

Paul

Thanks Paul,

With today's technology, just about anyone can work from home.  However, not all businesses can be operated from home.

If it weren't for computers and advanced technology, my venture would not be possible while active duty.

It is not an easy task to maintain a business and be on active duty, I am sure you have a strict schedule and no free time. When I was in the army I was also involved in a business with two of my brothers, the business went great because we loved what we do and the clients were very satisfied. Now I retired and miss those days when I had to solve a lot of problems and travel a lot, my Aimpoint T-1 scope reminds me of old good times.
