The General George Patton Museum of Leadership was established in 1949 to preserve historical artifacts and archival materials relating to Cavalry, Armor and General Patton. The museum is undergoing a multi-year transformation that is changing its focus to one that features the story of Army leadership, duty and sacrifice since 1775.

The museum recently completed a major building renovation, and the staff is creating interim interior exhibits to give visitors a taste of what is to come. The museum will always emphasize Patton's leadership. The Patton Gallery is still open to the public, but full reopening with permanent exhibits is scheduled for mid-2014. The Museum is administered by the U.S. Army Accessions Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky.
