So, uh, no more Random Encounter?
I suppose "a game a day" was maybe a little over-ambitious.

Johnny takes a holiday with Deep Silver's tropical zombie slaughterer, Dead Island. Warning: contains a lot of kicking.

Guys? Hello? I thought I had a little catching up to do since I was, you know, actually playing in the past couple of days but it is a bit of let down to come back and see day 3 with no new Random Encounters... =/
Johnny and Danny are what makes GS worth it! The rest is just pretty much meh...(especially the american team)
interesting game: it did with the zombie genre what TES did for RPG's and borderlands for shooters.
Had some big flaws though, my major gripe being that every single enemy had the exact same level as you. This nullifies progress and keeps combat always on the exact same difficulty for the entire game. Instead of slowly becoming a badass and giving you a feeling of improvement like you're suposed to have in an RPG.
It has it's flaws, but this is one of the most entertaining games I have played this generation - easily!
I'm sorry... was that supposed to be an Australian accent from that chick? Not cool.
dead island is the wost game i keep playing its addictive but its not well made the menus suck the pick up command is selective and there is a lot of lag when you preform an action they could have patched those problems but they didn't. the opening theme is one of the stupidest song ever, even the game makes fun of it
I love this game! I don't know why... it has been ages since a game got me so addicted to it! Played Dead Island for close on 200 hours.
I know this has been mentioned before, but Johnny's mouse work has something left to be desired from the audience, it's a bit jarring.
@nirvanaps3 He left to do an interview & caught a stomach bug so he was out all last week. He may be back tomorrow, finger's crossed.
If anyone has decided this game is bad because of this awful montage, PLEASE give it a try. The resort part gets fun once you start picking up some weapons that arn't rusty pipes and paddles.... and by the time you get to the big city...... this game gets UNREAL. At least play until you get to the city of Moresby until you make a decision.... although I found it fun right off the bat. It's the first game that makes melee combat more than "Hit, sprint backwards, hit, sprint backwards, repeat." hopefully the melee combat system they used here makes it into other games.... they REALLY got it right. (the game is HUUUUGE, too. something like 4 or 5 maps and each one is REALLY REALLY big. (and you can travel back and forth between them at will)
@CaptWaffle have to say I totally agree with you, I really enjoy this game and know many people who enjoy it to, the game does require some more thinking and running is sometimes the best option the only issue is the voice acting which is not the best, but you will get a hours if you do all the side mission and explore, not for gamer who need it simple....
Johnny just make this look stupid for no reason, he not even funny
Wow, this guy is really annoying. I absolutely love "Dead Island" but by God this guy I'm pretty sure could make anything boring. I'm all about dry humor and British Understatedness but this guy, dear God. I'll never be coming back to whatever this thing is.
@CaptWaffle "I'm all about dry humor and British Understatedness but this guy, dear God. " I highly doubt this comment....
Dead Island is overall a pretty underated game. No offense to Johnny but his play through of the game made it look incredibly stupid just flailing punches and kicks at the zombies. Once you get some decent weapons and you get the combat timing down, this game becomes a very satisfying zombie survival game. It especially gets intense when you get to the city Moresby and there is literally zombies everywhere. I don't know why people bash this game so much. Yeah, the characters are for the most part bland, the cutscenes aren't incredibly interesting but the combat is intense, brutal and just fun. It did release with glitches when it came out (although I never encountered any) but they have all been fixed. It is IMO the king of zombie games right now right next to Left4Dead. I have been very excited for Dead Island: Riptide and considering what Resident Evil has become, I can only see Dead Island becoming the top zombie game series.
I liked Dead Island but it got really boring after a few hours of playing.....plus the characters in the game are pretty bad :p
@hella_epic It's more the talking - the conversations are shit. but the action is damn nice.
Ehm, you can't play Tomb Raider, you die in the earliest stage in Dead Island.. what game ARE you good at? consider it a next Random Encounter :D
also when he said his character's gonna get diabetes from drinking all the energy drinks, I honestly got heartburn just watching the amount of energy drinks you drink in the game. I just imagined the taste of redbull every time my character drank lol.
kicks are too overpowered in my opinion when playing this game. should only deal stamina damage to zombies. Oh well, still fun running around like a kick boxer of 1 move lol.
yes i enjoyed it, in short Johnny take over from Danny on random encounter and make the replay higlights longer
I really enjoyed Dead Island. Unfortunate that the rocky launch left a bad taste in peoples mouths.
why not just cut to the chase and let Johnny do a marathon Chivalry play-through? then he wouldnt have to play it on every video he does.......(it was funny on the TR series but starting to get old now)
Considering kicking plays a big part in this game, wouldn't it have been sensible do add in studded sports shoes as a wearable weapon? Maybe in Riptide....? :)
@robbiejones @justcool2 I'm English, so originally I put "football/rugby shoes", but changed it so it would be more universal. YOUR WELCOME!
@justcool2 @robbiejones gotta apologise, i didnt even see everything you wrote on your first comment, kinda read the first sentence and commented. I do apologise
Johnny is quick, clever, and very funny, but Danny Generally Gives great commentary and gives sincerely interesting information, and is also very quick with jokes and has a great sense of humor. Both are amazing hosts In my opinion and make a great dynamic duo. But im content with just johnny for now though. Remind me of the good ole days of G4teckTv. Keep it coming
@keviac yeh, i like johnny heaps, jus he gets wayyy to fustrated when he plays a game. If i was payed to play a game for work i would tolerate it for an hour or so, but he jus goes to chivalry whenever he doesnt like the game and he doesnt give it a chance.
@robbiejones @keviac The game crashed in this case, I think it's excusable. Also, for Tomb Raider, I'm pretty sure it was mostly for humour.
@capper64 @robbiejones @keviac chivalry crashes all the time, dun give me that lol. but oh well its in the past now :)
