Wii U owners are getting a lot of attention, with "LEGO City: Undercover," "Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate" and "Need for Speed: Most Wanted U" all landing in the eShop after the weekend. Nintendo is also continuing the 30th anniversary of Famicom by offering a Virtual Console edition of "Punch Out! Featuring Mr. Dream" for only $0.30 in the Wii U eShop beginning March 20th.

Never fear 3DS owners, you're getting some digital love as well, with demos, deals and your own digital copy of "Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate" hitting the eShop on March 19th. 2013 is going to be a big year for Mario’s little brother, Luigi, so much so that Nintendo has already taken to calling it "The Year of Luigi." Never really one to steal the spotlight from Mario, Luigi has always been a secondary character for the franchise, but, that still makes him arguably one of the biggest names in video games... ever. Between the release of "Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon" on March 24, the upcoming "New Super Luigi U" expansion pack, and his role in a host of other Nintendo games on both the Wii U and 3DS, Luigi is set to have an unprecedented presence this year, which should make his faithful followers, both inside and outside of Nintendo very happy. Many folks are under the impression that video game consoles started with the Atari 2600 or Nintendo's NES in the 1980s. However, video game consoles can actually be traced all the back to the 1960s, with the introduction of "The Brown Box," which was followed by the Magnavox Odyssey in the 70s.

To set the record straight, Ript Apparel (a great source for gaming t-shirts) has put together a rather impressive infographic.
