Pikachu 3DS XL system only $159 at Target and regular 3DS $129 week of 3/24-3/30
It has been pointed out to us that the brand new yellow Pikachu 3DS XL that was only recently announced for North America will be $40 off at launch at Target stores.
That’s right, on March 24th when this very yellow handheld hits shelves you can buy it for $159.99 instead of $199. Quantities will be limited but I recommend you attempt to price match this at Best Buy if there is one near you. That way you can avoid the rush to Target to get it since I expect collector’s to come out in full force to grab this one.
Not only that but Target will be selling the Blue, Red, Pink 3DS XL units for $159 as well. Want a regular 3DS? Then you’ll be able to get it for $129 at Target starting March 24th and presumably lasting through March 30th.
PS Vita 3G model on sale for $249, comes with 8GB memory card and game
Sony is selling the PS Vita 3G/WiFi bundle for only $249 for a limited time on their official website. Not only that but this bundle comes with an 8GB memory card and a Playstation Network game of your choice.
This is a pretty sweet deal for those that don’t have a Vita already. The normal 3G model costs $299, so its already a $50 discount not including the memory card and the game.
Could this be a sign of a PS Vita price drop in North America on the heels of the Vita’s sales booming post-Japanese price cut? Maybe not but its a great sale nonetheless.
Anyone on the fence about getting a Vita needs to pay attention to this deal while it lasts. Order your 3G PS Vita for $249 right here.
Most Ubisoft games 30% off on Wii U eShop this week (Zombi U/ACIII for $41)
Ubisoft is holding an awesome sale on the Wii U eShop right now. Most of their games are 30% off for this week. These deals should be live on the eShop right now. This promotion is currently only in the United States and will last between 2/19 through 2/26.
Zombi U and Assassin’s Creed III are all $41.99 and Just Dance 4, Rabbids Land, Sports Connection and Your Shape are all discounted to $34.99.
Of course you’ll need memory to download all of these games. This is easily the best retail game sale I’ve seen on a console maker’s digital store ever. Sure, we get some on demand titles discounted massively on PSN/XBL 6 months+ after release.
But this is better since Zombi u and others are only 3 months old. This is almost Steam-level sales. Note that I said “almost”. By that I mean its closer than any console digital store has ever gotten to replicating the massive sales on retail PC games on Valve’s terrific service.
What are you going to purchase?
Wii U Deluxe Set discounted to $329 at Target this week
Right now Target is selling the Wii U deluxe SKU at a decent discount. Don’t get too excited, it isn’t a major price cut.
Target stores in the United States have begun a special this week which looks like it will only last the next 7 days. They’re selling the Deluxe Wii U SKU with Nintendo Land for $329.99, $20 off the normal price. This appears to be an unadvertised deal as of right now with no clear end date. We assume it will end when their sales reset next Sunday. This sale is in-store only.
No this isn’t the huge savings you were hoping for but it is a good deal nonetheless. For only $30 more than the Basic Set you get a game, 32GB storage, and a slew of other accessories as well as the Deluxe Digital Promotion.
I wouldn’t take this sale too seriously if you’re trying to read into this to see how good/bad the Wii U is doing at retailers. The Xbox 360 is the best selling home console in America and I can’t remember a week where it wasn’t discounted by $20 or $30 at some retailer.
These promotions just happen. If you’re in the market for a Wii U you should get to your local store and take advantage of this deal.
Best Buy discounts 3DS models and games for week of 1/20-1/26
Best Buy’s weekly ad for 1/20 through 1/26 has some pretty good deals if you’re in the market for a handheld. They will be selling the regular 3DS for $150 and the XL for $179.
In addition to that they’re offering 50% more credit on game trades. There are numerous multiplatform games on sale.
PS3 160GB slim models selling for $149 at select Best Buy stores
Best Buy is clearing out all old 160GB PS3 slim models. Not the super-slim mind you, but the model before it.
They are currently selling them in store for $149.99! That’s the lowest price I’ve ever seen on a PS3 period. You might have a hard time finding one in stock near you but its worth the hassle I’d say.
Please note: Not all Best Buy stores are doing this yet. It appears to be in Texas as of right now. Your best chance is to go to your local Best Buy yourself and ask to see what is on clearance. Each store puts items on clearance on their own schedules so just because one is doing it doesn’t mean everything single other one will do it immediately too.
With games like Beyond: Two Souls, The Last of Us and more coming out this year it doesn’t look like the PS3 is going to slow down anytime soon.
GameStop selling used PS Vita systems for $149 with coupon
If you’re a member of GameStop’s Power Up Rewards and in the market for a PS Vita you’re in luck.
This week only and until January 13th the video game retailer will discount a used PS Vita system all the way down to $149.99. This is a large, unprecedented temporary cut on price. All signs point to GameStop having issues moving used Vita systems.
I can’t imagine there are a lot of people trading in Vitas to begin with, but whatever has been traded in appears to be sitting on store shelves otherwise GameStop wouldn’t be taking such a hit on the system.
You can get a coupon from their Power Up Rewards program that will discount the console for only 10,000 points.
Anyone going to take advantage of this?
