Coming to hospital

Here you can find out about getting ready for hospital and what it is really like. You can also hear Lottie, a patient at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and her mum Kate explain what it's like to come to the hospital for the first time.

It's natural to feel nervous about going to hospital  – find out what to expect when you get here.

If you're only coming to hospital for the day, you'll be coming in as an outpatient.


If you'll be staying overnight in hospital, you'll be coming in as an inpatient.
