Construction Industry

DEFA Head Quarters

The Isle of Man has a well established, highly skilled and versatile construction sector capable of undertaking most building or civil engineering projects.

A full range of professions and trades are available to address client's design and construction needs, along with supporting businesses such as quarries, hauliers and supplier merchants.

The construction industry, which contributes 6% of GDP, is vital to the provision and maintenance of the property and infrastructure required for the Island's continued economic growth.

The Department of Economic Development is committed to developing the skills of individuals and organisations involved in the construction industry. A flexible approach to the provision of training is used to meet the ever-changing demands presented by the industry, while apprentices in a variety of trades are actively supported with both financial and administrative assistance.
