IBM Think Power Linux Lounge - Thurs, Aug 18th, 5:15pm, Regency A Room, Hyatt

Braindead after a hard day at LinuxCon? Come relax over beverages and snacks and chat with peers from the IBM Linux Technology Center, Red Hat, and SUSE. Try your luck at the Watson Jeopardy! challenge outside the door...then come inside to hear "how'd they do that" with Linux and the Apache Hadoop framework on a cluster of standard IBM POWER7 systems. Linux IT professionals from IBM clients Rice University and GHY International will be on hand to share how they do it, too, using Linux on ppc64 architecture.

SoftLayer Happy Hour at LinuxCon - Thurs, Aug 18th, 6:30pm, Smiley's Public House

Join LinuxCon sponsor SoftLayer Technologies for happy hour at Smiley's Public House, just down the street from the Hyatt.  Complimentary food and beverages sponsored by Adaptec.  Stop by the SoftLayer Technology Showcase booth for an invite.

LinuxCon VIP Dinner Reception - Thurs, Aug 18th, 6:30pm, Terminal City Club

A reception for our speakers and sponsors, LinuxCon attendees can choose to purchase a ticket to this event on their conference registration. Dinner and drinks included.  An invitation or purchased ticket is required to attend this event.

Closing Reception - Fri, Aug 19th, 5:00pm, Steamworks Brewery

Relax after a long three days with drinks and snacks with your fellow attendees at Steamworks Brewery in Gastown.  Hosted bar and complimentary appetizers  will be served.
