Overview
The New Jersey Department
of Transportation (NJDOT) in
compliance with the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA) and
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation
Act of 1973, assures that no
qualified disabled person shall
solely by reason of disability,
be excluded from participation
in, be denied the benefits of,
or otherwise be subjected to
discrimination in access to its
programs, services, or activities
or in any aspect of their operations.
It is the goal of NJDOT to ensure
all facilities, roads and structures
designed, constructed and maintained
by the NJDOT are ADA compliant.
ADA training is provided for
all employees and NJDOT is conducting
an inventory of sidewalk and
curb ramps along its 2,300 miles
of state roadway system to ensure
compliance.
