hmmmmm, another vita launch? I didn't see anything that was amazing. Plus somewhat confused x86 only supports up to 4GB of RAM. Soooo, why is there 8GB. Why not just go with x64.

Brennen, x86 comes in many architectures, including 64bit which does support more than 8 gigs of ram.

It's and AMD APU.. its x86_64 based. It is not a 'a different architecture' even things like the ps3 we not. It was just a PowerPC. Well it had the extra stream processors which were different, but the base PowerPC was nothing new. This time round they are using GPGPU in place of the stream processors.. Much more intelligent. Even during the U4 tech demo they said that 'porting to PS4 will be far easier'. Why? because its just a PC with set in stone specs..

First PS3's were backwards compatibile, then they started building them so they weren't backwards compatible. On the other hand my PC can play some games from Windows 95 on Windows 7. I also have a PS2 and I won't be buying a PS4

My PS2 still works fine. Its a trooper, just keeps on going. So why upgrade to PS4? At this rate I should wait for PS10 to come out. Maybe upgrade every power of 10 or something.

Stop yourself form buying the Ps4, wait atleast a couple months and watch it drop in price 100-250$ and let the bugs and glitches that always come out with first shipment.

I'm still looking for the WOW factor... Now a Sony TV with a built in PS4 that you play the games on the cloud, would do me just fine.. make it happen Sony..

Why a PS4?...Why not utilize the full set of capabilities of the PS3 first. Like full 1080p for instance. I couldn't imagine paying whatever Sony is expecting when the only thing I feel they could truly add to make a better "gaming" console, is 3-D graphics. Then again, I don't want to wear those glasses all day!

They didn't mention price or release date.. But the ultimate let down is that Sony didn't even show off the console itself. It was just a meeting about what to expect. 

ps3 and xbox 360 are virtually identical if you ask me... only differences that make the ps3 better.. bluray!.. free online!! other than that they look, play, feel the same, do all the same stuff..play pretty much all the same games except some exclusives,, halo..who cares...gears of war..meh.. left 4 dead..ugh oh well ...but ps3 has its own. kinect and move are both gimmicks that will fade.. ps3 beats xbox hands down....ps4 should be amazing, hope they have some at comic con!!

They said in the conference that the full playstation spectrum of games will eventually be playable with Gaikai (on ps4/vita/tablet/smartphone/pc). So all of you "No BC!" people should really stop. :-P

And for those complaining that the graphical jump isn't large enough, look at ps3 launch-titles and tell me that again with a straight face.

This conference was everything it said it would be and definitely everything it should be. It was damn fine in my opinion and, from what they showed, I'm definitely getting 1 or 2.

Previously they were tied up with Microsoft exclusively - not they are an LLC and can produce for whatever platforms they want.

I was hoping for some kind of integration between PS4 and Sony 3D headset visor.

Since PS1, consoles has really been same-gen with upgraded hardware to support better graphics. The Wii motion & Xbox Kinnect has been the only considerable nex-gen aspects of the same-gen.

IMO, a "True Nex-Gen" system should either drags gamers into the game via Sony 3D visor OR project the gaming environment in my living room (such as projecting graphics outside of the TV box and all around my living room walls and ceilings). Consoles can afford to include many sensors and cameras placed all around my living room to create a unique experience. Size isn't an issue since my console will be 99% of the time stationary.

At very least I'm expecting PS4 massive online multiplayer capabilities to battle 64vs64 PC style. Otherwise, it'll be considered PS3.5, really.

(In short few years) How will Sony and MS distinguish their platforms from other gaming platforms such as IOS and Android?

+Ali Husainzada Sure that sounds cool, but have fun paying for all of that.  Manufacturing would be a nightmare, and only a small portion of the market would be willing to pay for it - not to mention the headache of installing it.  Every room is different, after all, and thus one standardized system would not be able to efficiently utilize the space.

And iOS and Android will never be on the same level as home consoles, just as home consoles will never be on the same level as PC gaming.

The controller looks fairly clumsy. I am not a gamer but these companies shoukd be doing more to snare people like me. Bring on the samsung gaming console.

Fail. The only reason i bought a ps3 was that at the time it was the same price as a blu ray player so why wouldnt you get something that can play games too. None of the console exclusive games intrest me, and lets be honest, the games are what sell consoles. So im goin to wait for the next xbox and halo 5.

The only thing I don't like about the new xbox is the fact they are going to require an authentication code for every video game. There is going to be no market for used games. What if you wanted to play it on a different console. There are too many question marks surrounding the xbox.
