I want Google Glass built into my eye.
Richard Newby
Errrrrr? No. Not at all, who wants to be cool? Not me.
Actually, I think the current look is pretty cool but it's an obvious progression. Plus it's google, designers will be all over it.
Daniel Cook
It doesn't matter to me.  I am not sure how I would use them.  I was really excited about the ipad and smartphones and I am interested in playing with these but I am not sure how I would use them.

Those who would notice that I had Google Glass and found it cool are all I would care about. Not bothered about the opinions of people who think that the case of a product is more important than what it does.

I think instead of making stylish Google Glasses, they should make that side thingy attachable to any article of eye-wear, so people could wear it over any style of eye-wear they chose. And so people who wear prescription glasses could easily attach them without getting prescription Google Glass lenses made.

So we have an epidemic of people butchering other people because they're text messaging while driving and not paying attention to the road and now we're going to put computers into eyeglasses to provide even more distraction?

Who cares, as long as they work awesome and they're cheap!

It appears by the patent that the technology will eventually be able to be on any pair of glasses

+Thomas K. Odell texting while driving is a huge problem but "epidemic" and "butchering" are a little extreme imo.

+Andrew McAtee Yeah, I've seen that guy around Google+ starting wars  about murder and muslims killing people.
Tim Beilfuss
Most people who arent excited about Glass are those who dont understand the long term value and concept. to basically have an overlay to the world around you on command or passively will be a huge advance for mankind intellectually.

Next stop... Google Glass contact lenses!

The nose rests bother me. Every other aspect is so modern and futuristic, but they look like they just bent some wire and added pads.  It's jarring.

+Jake Miller , i would not bother critiquing them yet. The Glass that exists today will not look anything like the Glass you, me and the general public will eventually have access to.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can have Glass as a standard part of my prescription glasses. Might get me wearing glasses again!

+Tim Beilfuss Most definitely.  I say it looks like they bent a piece of wire and added pads because...that's probably what they did.

+Jake Miller , think about the trend of thick framed glasses. The entire technology can be inside the frames. plus, if they have a bluetooth only version, it can be minute and just connect to your smartphone for the data.

Love the conversation here! This gadget is really interesting. We'll see how it'll capture the market, with a not-so-fashionable touch yet.
Tim Beilfuss
We, as the general public, can not begin to understand the endless possibilities of Glass. Think of being in a mall and looking at the Mall Directory Map, and Glass can pop up Google Offers specifically for you!!! It would be a huge advantage for Google since stores will know you are already there and want you to step in.

The one million (Austin Powers billion) dollar question is Eyeware vs Wrist watch or Glass vs iWatch, will people use eyeglasses even after laser eye surgery? or will wrist watches be back to the future? how many people wear eyeglasses vs wrist watches? The answers to these questions might help understand who will innovate to win.

And they'll still only be $500?

+C. Said Schwarz , whats innovative about a smart watch, they already exists. Another in a long long of Apple products they didnt invent. Glass on the other hand.....

To use smart watch:

1.) Don't wear long sleeves or gloves
2.) Squint
3.) Forget which gesture does what
4.) Press three touch targets at once, be shown anything but what you wanted
5) Kill self

To use Glass:

1) Tell Glass what you want it to do.

+Jake Miller , and would anyone want to be made fun of for calling K.I.T.T. everytime they talk a command into their watch?! LOL
Shelby Shum
I just hope gunnars become compatible
Scott Mason
They need to consider people that wear their own glasses and be able to clip it on them.

That's the kind of thing Google doesn't fuck up.

Actually getting the product to you in the first place, on the other hand... cough Nexus4 cough
Carlos Rivera
Im interested in em now! If they were more stylish, well, TAKE MY MONEY!
Thomas Mutton
I thought they might do that. Makes sense really.

absurd question. of course it matters.  it is the American way, if not universal.  one can't have the thing that works, if that ain't a thing of beauty.  should be, like an explicit rule or something by now -- no? cheers.

will it include prescription lenses?
Mark Harrison
Well as  a glasses wearer, it's a non-starter in its present form. Not walking into things has a somewhat higher priority!
Brian Duval
Well, "less fashionable frames" would clearly be impossible . . .
