PlayStation 4 Gets Early Support From Publishers and Developers

The PlayStation 4 unveiling Wednesday night proved to be just as much about the games and publishers already planned for the system as it was the new hardware. Sony took the time to trot out several different companies to showcase what each had been working on in secret for the console. The PlayStation hardware will be powerful enough to run beautiful games; that was one thing made clear from the presentation.

Is a 'Final Fantasy' Remake Coming to iOS This Week?

A mysterious Japanese teaser site appeared Tuesday morning with silhouettes from the Final Fantasy universe and a date of Jan. 17. Fans were left to speculate on social media if the wordless webpage posted by publisher Square Enix was related to a particular game in the Final Fantasy franchise or perhaps a new product entirely.

Hands-on Preview of 'Sleeping Dogs' Game Shows Lots of Promise

Video game publisher Square Enix held an exclusive preview of its forthcoming title Sleeping Dogs in San Francisco this week, giving Mashable a hands-on look at one of this summer's most anticipated open-world games. Basically, Sleeping Dogs looks awesome. Here's the basic premise of the game: Players operate as Asian-American detective Wei Shen, who is assigned to infiltrate and take down a violent Triad crime ring in Hong Kong.

Final Fantasy Has Arrived on the iPhone

Both Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II [iTunes links] — two games from one of the most revered console game franchises of all time — are available for purchase in the Apple App Store for the iPhone and iPod touch right now. We knew they were coming a while ago, but we didn't know the pricing. Each game costs $8.99 and features upgraded graphics similar to those found on the Sony PSP versions released a couple years ago.

Finally, Final Fantasy is Coming To iPhone

The iPhone (and iPod touch) is lately becoming the mobile platform of choice for the classic games connoisseur. Yesterday we wrote about Ultimate Genesis, the official Sega Genesis emulator for the iPhone and iPod touch, and today Kotaku reports that legendary games Final Fantasy I & II will soon be available on these platforms, too.
