Phil McAndrew Brings Incredible Energy To Bloodhounds, Bravest Warriors And 'Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler' [Art]

"It's okay to draw like a six-year-old," Phil McAndrew tells those of us with lesser drawing skills. McAndrew doesn't draw like a six-year-old, but that one little sentence says a lot about his work. McAndrew's art is marked by skillful composition and caricature, but it's filled with the energy of someone who hasn't forgotten what it is like to be a six-year-old doodling dinosaurs. That's probably why he's drawn variant covers for BOOM! comics like Adventure Time, Bravest Warriors and Regular Show, when he's not working on his own illustrations and comics.

Ethan Mongin Draws The 'G.I. Joe' Universe Cobra By Cobra And Joe By Joe [Art]

One day a little over a year ago, illustrator and graphic designer Ethan Mongin was bitten by the nostalgia bug and began drawing his favorite characters from G.I. Joe. A year later, he's still going strong, creating dozens of off-kilter portraits and illustrations of characters from both sides of Hasbro's cartoon war.

Parting Shot: Ben Kingsley Looks Straight Up Pimp As The Mandarin In New 'Iron Man 3' Poster

We don't know much yet about the story behind Ben Kingsley's Mandarin in Iron Man 3. But based on the newly released poster for the film -- featuring the Mandarin rocking shades indoors, army fatigue pants, and what I sincerely hope is a pair of Timberlands -- we know this much: if being a supervillain doesn't work out for him, he definitely has a promising future starring in Wu-Tang videos. I suggest Ghostface, just to keep the theme going.

'Usagi Yojimbo: Way Of The Samurai' Is Available Now For All Your Gaming Needs

Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo has consistently been one of the best comics of the past 30 years. Every single issue is a masterpiece, to the point where I'm often reading it and thinking that it could only be better if it was more like Capcom's 1989 beat-em-up classic, Final Fight, the pinnacle of human achievement.

I always thought that was a silly thought, but now, it has become a reality. This week marks the release of Usagi Yojimbo: Way of the Samurai, a mobile game that puts everyone's favorite katana-wielding bunny into side-scrolling action onto iPhones and Android devices.

John Barber, Andrew Griffith and Casey Coller have thrown me for a Cybertronian loop! Best Art Ever (This Week) - 02.22.13

We make a regular practice at ComicsAlliance of spotlighting particular artists or specific bodies of work, but because cartoonists, illustrators and their fans share countless numbers of great images on sites like Flickr, Tumblr, DeviantArt and seemingly infinite art blogs that we've created Best Art Ever (This Week), a weekly depository for just some of the pieces of especially compelling artwork that we come across in our regular travels across the Web. Some of it's new, some of it's old, some of it's created by working professionals, some of it's created by future stars, some of it's created by talented fans, and some of it's endearingly silly. All of it's awesome.

Ask Chris #142: The Case Against Cyclops

Over a lifetime of reading comics, Senior Writer Chris Sims has developed an inexhaustible arsenal of facts and opinions. That's why, each and every week, we turn to you to put his comics culture knowledge to the test as he responds to your reader questions!

Q: Why all the hate for Cyclops? -- @chrisfarnsworth

A: Because Cyclops is basically terrible.

Yeah, I know, that's exactly what I said about Aquaman. If I use it three times, though, it officially becomes a running gag, and that'll come in handy the next time someone asks about Hawkman.
