Fire Emblem: Awakening

Fire Emblem: Awakening - Review

Fire Emblem Awakening is another entry in a beloved role-playing series known for its sense of humor and daunting challenge. Players join Chrom, brother of Ylisse's empress and commander of its forces, in a fantasy world teetering on the brink of war where they must lead their team of Ylisse's knights, mages, archers, and more through battles across maps that span entire kingdoms.

If you've been intimidated by Fire Emblem in the past, you may find Awakening to be a welcoming entry point. The casual option allows you to turn off permanent death for characters who fall in battle. Thus, defeated characters will still return in later battles. Thankfully, returning fans can ignore this option; after all, your choices have more power when you must face the possibility of losing a character you've grown particularly fond of.
