    • When new parents bring home their adorable baby from the hospital, they usually want to share their joy with the world. And lately, many people have hired professional photographers to capture their precious newborns' early days. But it's not only biological parents who want photos of their little ones -- nor do the kids have to be newborns to have a fun photo shoot celebrating their arrival.

Three years ago, Kelli Higgins of Crestview, Florida, had five biological children at home and was pregnant with a sixth. She and her husband then adopted two siblings, 5-year-old Chanya and 10-year-old Latrell. Last month, while the family sat around the dinner table, Higgins, a photographer, told the kids that she would be doing a newborn photo session. Latrell, who spent much of his youth in foster care, mentioned to his mother that he didn't have any baby photos of himself. That gave his 12-year-old sister Alycia an idea: Their mom should take "newborn" pictures of Latrell now, at age 13!

    • Sure, singing telegrams are not as popular as they used to be. If you're looking to surprise someone, though, or just put the spotlight on him or her for a couple of minutes, look no further. If you really want to ramp up the shock, you can have a singing telegram delivered on live television. That's what happened to weather and traffic reporter Amy Aaronson of WLTX-TV in Columbia, South Carolina.

After finishing the forecast and traffic report, Aaronson is visibly shocked as a loud voice is heard from offscreen. Then, "Captain Telegram," the man hired to sing her birthday wishes, bursts in front of camera with her and starts performing his routine. After about a minute of cringe-worthy birthday congratulations, the Captain escorts Aaronson off with a collection of balloons. Aaronson, who remains a pretty good sport throughout the encounter, returns and has a chat with the anchors.

Later, on Twitter, Aaronson responded to warm wishes from fans and wrote, "I'm just glad it happened

    • How awesome would it be to sit at the gears of a fighter jet and see the world from tens of thousands of feet above ground at speeds of hundreds of miles per hour? Most of us will never get the opportunity to fly a fighter jet, of course, but worry not, you can now experience the view.

A new YouTube video uploaded by a Navy pilot gives viewers a firsthand experience inside the cockpit of an F-18 Super Hornet -- no rigorous training required. The video was uploaded by YouTube user Sir Francis 92, whose nickname matches the name on the pilot's helmet. It documents an entire flight from takeoff to landing from the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Along the way, the pilot demonstrates some of the incredible rolls and turns that make these jets so special. The pilot even engages in a midair refueling from another jet.

More than 65,000 people have already viewed the 12- minute video, and people are in awe of the pilot's flying and service. One person wrote, "You sir are a badass."

    • It's Valentine's Day, and what better way to celebrate all the love than talking about the zombie apocalypse, right? Oh? That's not your idea of a lovey-dovey conversation? Apparently the zombie apocalypse is a hot-button issue, though. So contentious, in fact, that it became the topic of debate during a Canadian Parliament meeting on Wednesday.

At Wednesday's House of Commons meeting, Winnipeg Parliament member Pat Martin asked Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird about zombie apocalypse preparations. What followed was a debate that has created YouTube viral gold. Martin asks for the government to put in place measures for dealing with an invasion of zombies. Martin says, "I don't need to tell you, Mr. Speaker, that zombies don't recognize borders. Zombie invasion in the United States could easily turn into a continent-wide pandemic if it's not contained." His proclamation is of course met with laughter and disbelief by other Parliament members.

      Martin continues, "On behalf of

    • Meet Caffrey, the two-legged cat. The black Persian lost his left hind leg 10 years ago after being run over by a car. His left front paw was badly damaged, and his owner, Sue Greaves, paid nearly $5,500 for the surgery to save his left front leg.

Four months ago, Caffrey's veterinarian found a malignant tumor in his left front leg and advised that it might be best to euthanize Caffrey. Instead, Greaves decided to have Caffrey's leg amputated, and soon after the surgery Caffrey was bouncing around on his two remaining legs.

Greaves is so happy to still have her feline companion by her side and understands people's shock when they witness his ability to get around. "Everyone who sees him is astonished at what he can do. He doesn't seem bothered by having only two legs."

Meanwhile, the video of Caffrey getting around is racking up the "likes" on YouTube. So far, his video has more than 200,000 views and counting. People are inspired by the little guy's resilience, with one commenter
