BioWare: Mass Effect 3 DLC announcement "hopefully coming next week"

Developer to detail new pack once it's "locked and complete"

BioWare will "hopefully" reveal a new Mass Effect 3 DLC pack next week, according to BioWare Edmonton "community guy" Chris Priestly.

"When it is ready to be talked about, it will be. Not my decision, but I think, hopefully, late next week," Priestly tweeted on Monday, adding "we'll reveal details as soon as the team is comfortable it is locked and complete. Hopefully next week." Elsewhere, he made mention of "secret projects" - DLC again, or the much-discussed Mass Effect 4?

The next Mass Effect 3 add-on is rumoured to be titled Reckoning, and may offer a new story-driven co-op mode, possibly set aboard the Citadel. BioWare has teased the arrival of additional content in the form of two mysterious artworks, one of which you'll see below.

In the words of BioWare designer Jos Hendriks: "It's all hands on deck for this one. Pretty much every Mass Effect 3 DLC writer here in Edmonton is involved." The music's said to be a particular highlight. We're looking forward to finding out more.

  1. It's possible the co-op thing is just new maps, with the main part of the dlc being singleplayer. It's likely paid DLC anyway, so it'll be on sale when I buy it.

  2. I'll probably get this eventually, but the ME3 ending killed my enthusiasm for the series. I'd have got all three games on PC if it weren't for EA forcing Origin on the retail version of ME3, and I certainly don't want to buy all the DLC again at full price. I suppose I'll play them all again on 360 once the shiny has worn off my new PC.
