Germany international Holger Badstuber believes that Bayern Munich has the potential to become the biggest club in Europe and dethrone Barcelona as the continent's dominant force. Follow GOAL.COM on Twitter
The Bavarians have made it to the final of the Champions League twice in the past three seasons but have not won the competition since they beat Valencia in 2001. Nevertheless, Badstuber is hopeful that the Allianz Arena side will soon be successful in Europe again and outshine incoming Bayern coach Pep Guardiola's former side.
"Bayern can become the biggest club in Europe, even bigger than Barcelona," the defender told Bild.
The 23-year-old is currently recovering from a knee injury, and he has set his sights on a comeback before the end of this season. Badstuber made 12 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern this campaign before he got injured.
"I am hopeful that I can play a few games for Bayern this term. That is my main objective at the moment," Badstuber said.
