Titles aren't won in February, but it seems like a stretch to say that the Premier League is a two-team race right now. City could be a couple of weekends away from a complete collapse, while Spurs, Chelsea and maybe even Arsenal all have eyes on second place. At the other end of the table remain QPR, a team that's quickly running out of time.
2012-13 Week 27 Premier League power rankings
20. Queens Park Rangers (20th in the league table, 17 points): Swans are a quality team, but 'Arry had every right to criticize his players immediately after the game. They truly looked like a side that already know they're going down.
19. Wigan Athletic (19th in the league table, 21 points): The final score wasn't a true reflection of the action, as Wigan gave Chelsea a bigger fight than you'd expect from a team that would be relegated if the season ended today.
18. Reading (18th in the league table, 23 points): Reading's inability to once again produce magic in the waning moments of play sees them back in the bottom three of the table. It's likely going to be nervy for them the rest of the season.
17. Newcastle United (17th in the league table, 27 points): Newcastle were extremely negative in the second half against Spurs even before Yoan Gouffran picked up an injury, and it cost them at least a point. They deserved the loss on Saturday.
16. Aston Villa (17th in the league table, 24 points): West Ham aren't anything special this season, but a win is a win. Villa desperately needed that victory and the three points.
15. Norwich City (14th in the league table, 29 points): Slowly but surely, Norwich are becoming one of the more missable teams in the league. Perhaps I'm wrong in thinking there is no way they could go down when all is said and done.
14. Sunderland (13th in the league, 29 points): Sunderland couldn't even pick up a point despite Arsenal going down to ten men with roughly 30 minutes left to play. It's no accident that they are six points from the drop.
13. Southampton (15th in the league table, 27 points): Talk about a result that came out of nowhere. Southampton didn't just beat City. They outclassed the second best team in the league.
12. West Ham United (11th in the league table, 30 points): West Ham will have 15 days to prepare for Spurs after barely showing up at all for their match against Villa this past weekend. That's plenty of time to do some soul-searching.
11. Fulham (12th in the league table, 29 points): Better teams have been held to a draw at Carrow Road this season. I still can't see them dropping into the bottom five of the league table.
10. Liverpool (9th in the league, 36 points): It wasn't that long ago that I claimed Liverpool could maybe sneak into the top four. I apologize for such a silly statement.
9. Stoke City (10th in the league, 33 points): See what happens, Stoke, when you actually score goals? Good things, guys. Good things.
8. West Bromwich Albion (8th in the league, 37 points): Ben Foster was heroic in what could be West Brom's most massive win of the season. Maybe their top five dreams aren't yet dead.
7. Swansea City (7th in the league, 37 points): Swansea did exactly what a good team should do, and that's beat up on a bad opponent. They bounced back from a poor week with style.
6. Everton (6th in the league, 42 points): I don't dislike Everton, but I've said it before and will do so again: They just don't have the goods to consistently hang with the top four teams in the league.
5. Arsenal (5th in the league, 44 points): How do you Arsenal supporters feel about your team's first-choice 'keeper now? Szczesny really saved the day for the Gunners.
4. Manchester City (2nd in the league, 53 points): It's not all bad news, City supporters. There's always the FA Cup to win.
3. Tottenham Hotspur (4th in the league, 48 points): Gareth Bale is currently playing as well as is anybody else in the league. Spurs will definitely earn Champions League if Bale's form continues.
2. Chelsea (3rd in the league, 49 points): Rafa out? Not so fast. The Blues have a real shot at finishing below only United.
1. Manchester United (1st in the league, 65 points): Kings of all power rankings and the unnamed champs of the Premier League. Survival Sunday should be much more fun for United this time around.
