North Carolina's fading tourney chances

Need a new coach. Roy has been mailing it in the last few years. Ever since the biggest academic fraud case in the history of the NCAA was revealed at UNC.
I like that. Drop "Tarheels" and change to "Academic Fraud"

Even if they lose, they will be 16-8 and 6-5 in the ACC with 7 games left. So how is this a must win? If they go 4-3 over their final 7 ACC games, they'll be 20-10 and 10-8 in the ACC and that's good enough to at least get a 10 or 11 seed.

I am amazed at how quick you Heel haters love to jump on the bandwagon to write off the Heels. I admit the Heels are not up to their normal competition level. I still think in the end they will make the tournament and surprise some people. If some of our Mcdonalds all americans would just start to play up to their hype {Mcadoo}. I think they could make a run in the tournament.

This is the price College teams pay for winning a national championship. The enitre starting lineup either graduates or goes Pro early. Kills the recruiting effort, i.e. you turn down a great guard because you have a Kendal Marshall and then Kendal leaves early!!

Motivation comes from many sources. I thought that the emergence of some of the bottom progams would have been enough for my Heels to mount an offensive attack. The best team in the league is Miami. I repeat Miami. That alone should be enough for an elite basketball powerhouse to come out swinging. I'm not sure if these guys are playing for the name on the front or the back of the jersey.

The problem for the Heels is a glaring lack of an inside presense. Mcadoo has tremendous talent but lacks the fire needed to be a great player. As a whole, this team lacks the mental toughness needed to be good. i've been a Tar Heel fan for 30 years. They are probably in the top 68, however, and it would take a total collapse to not make it in. Kentucky is in the same boat. If Roy had a chance to play with seniors during his time in Carolina, he'd have 4 titles by now.

Heart goes out to Roy Williams. Every loss must cause him extreme mental anguish and the potential to miss tournament is like a day without sunshine. If they can't make the field of 68, I will be forced to think of a reason to live.
