I remember when that dungeon was able to have more than 5 people in it. CAUSE THAT S__T WAS HARD!

Jess checks out a hugely popular meme that got started on one of the biggest games in the world; LEEROY JENKINS!!!
I've never raided in wow, I only ever made it to lvl 70 once on a undead rogue like 3 or 4 years ago. I kind of want to once before I die
THAT'S where it started? That was stupid, and not the funny kind of stupid just the dumb kind of stupid that you want to forget about as soon as possible. How did this ever catch on? I never had a problem with the Leeroy Jenkins thing, but now that I know the whole story, it's remarkably, fantastically, impossibly dumb. Worst meme ever.
@Cherubas Maybe you just don't like WoW when it was in it's prime. I think the meme is quite good.
@Cherubas lol...well, I think it's funny cause ppl are so hardcore into WoW and this guy is just like "fuck this! I'm going in!" Maybe if you listen to the whole thing (the commands and tactics the 'leader' is spittin out before hand) you may find the humor like alot of people :) But then again....
I'm still curious if the Phantom Leeroy in DarkSouls is a reference to this....pretty sure it is. lol
I thought this was really funny for a while, but I've kind of forgotten about it over time.
I was hoping that this was a video about all the gaming memes that have sprung up over the years but it was a good video, I guess ;)
And yes, Leroy Jenkins is classic and forever will be - whether you like/liked WoW or not, that raid video was so funny and epitomized the pain-in-the-ass of grinding that could still be fun, even when you got wiped out. I'm pretty sure this meme's going to be the one that will be commonly referred to in the future when people look back at this time period that we live in.
@Entropy730 They have a few episodes ranging from Guiles theme to Jill Sandwich. Most of them are pretty funny, and there are some I had forgotten about. Check em out.
I actually knew someone who was in High school who was one of the players in the team here. I didn't get the impression that he thought it would get this big. He was just a regular person.
This is the only thing about World of Warcraft that I know of, and let's face it, everybody did a Leeroy one time or another.
Yeah it's so funny when Leroy does it. But when I do it.... Oh I should get kicked out of the raid.
Did not find it funny when it happen .. and still not funny years later.. still absurd..
@befo72 @AryanRO huh? you call this comedy.. this is crap.. South Park Make Love not Warcraft is a lot funnier...
EQ the search for burned woods a lot funnier (.http://mmorpg-info.org/fun/burned-woods/).. or the story of Vetlar (http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/55407)
I like to pull a "Leeroy Jenkins" once in a while. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.
So, it's official; there is no more original humor on the internet so we're forced to dredge up stuff from 8 years ago? Leeroy was funny when it happened, but I don't see any reason in looking back on this. It's sad when the internet has followed suit with the film industry and is no longer capable of producing anything original and instead copy old stuff or introduce "anniversary" editions or throw-backs. The world's really fallen apart these past 8 years.
@MechaDragon86 Appreciating history is different than trying to make a joke. This is the former.
@MechaDragon86 Lighten up, man. There are cool new memes being discovered all the time.
Just like all memes, it was funny the first time untill attention deprived children got their hands on it, and abused it's worth.
The funny thing is, the first time I saw this I said in vent to my guild.. "you call that a train? where the hell are the blackrock orcs from above? I know I could do better than that!"
Making a gaming meme tribute video about this is just like making a great hockey players series episode about wayne gretzky
Finally! This is the one I've been asking for! Its the ultimate classic gaming meme!
