Instructor Guides and Master Teaching Plan

One of CAMC’s mandates is to direct the development of detailed and comprehensive Instructor Guides/curricula in response to the training needs of the aviation maintenance and aerospace industry.

Instructor Guides are used in post-secondary training organizations and employer-based training departments for aviation-related occupations, while CAMC’s Master Teaching Plan (MTP) is a comprehensive lesson plan for use by instructors in the classroom.

The curricula are developed based on the requirements outlined in the National Occupational Standard (OS) for specific occupations. CAMC also accredits existing training programs and audits training organizations to ensure consistent delivery of the CAMC National Training Standard.

CAMC has developed Instructor Guides for the following occupations:

* This curriculum has been recognized by Transport Canada (Ref Airworthiness Notice C002) for training delivered by an Approved Training Organization (ATO).

Master Teaching Plans (MTPs)

Master Teaching Plans (MTPs) are designed to organize all the components of a program under one cover. MTPs provide a wealth of material and information, including overheads, self-evaluations, tests and quizzes, student handout materials and practical assignment guidelines. Lesson plans are broken down into stand-alone modules that may be taught in any order to provide flexibility and enable the instructor to adapt to specific learning situations.

Aviation Maintenance Orientation Program (AMOP)

The Aviation Maintenance Orientation Program (AMOP) is another instructor guide that has been developed by CAMC, in partnership with industry, for use at the secondary school level. The AMOP is designed to assist high schools in introducing students to the fundamental elements of aviation maintenance, and in motivating students to pursue a career in the aviation maintenance and aerospace industry.
