Can you hand deliver a sealed version from your preschool to the school? That's what I would demand from the preschool today. That said, is there a reason your PSD doesn't want you to go there and could be doing intentionally? [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] We were at a hotel Saturday night for DDs swim meet. The hotel had one of those breakfast bars-we were at a Hampton inn. Well DD is 12 and wanted frosted flakes. And she got up and got herself cereal while DH and I had coffee at the table. Some mother came up to us and started lecturing us about kids having sugar and how sugar cereals are harmful.....etc. I said "thank you but we will take of our child ourself."....DH just rolled his eyes. I would never go up to a stranger about cereal!!! 16 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

people really think they know what's best and their way is superior and they should be missionaries telling people how to live their lives. it's the new religion. they tell people how to eat, how to parent, how to vote. they have no sense of how little they matter in the universe and no boundaries. [ - ] Spin-off from the cutting corners post. What are the little things you regularly do around your apt that help you feel like you're keeping order, even with little time. Or the things you always do that help make up for other things that slide? For example, I really try to make sure sink is empty and wiped down every night. It's satire. She's not likeable, and she's not supposed to be liked. All the characters are being mocked, and Dunham does not spare her own character, who, based on herself, is mocked the most brutally of all. She's a self-centered attention freak who makes terrible life decisions, as do all of her friends male and female, which makes them pretty typical for spoiled New Yorkers in their 20s. Ha! Although, I have to agree with part of the OP. My kids did both pre-school and activities. I have uber active boys--during the winter we had to gt them activities. It's one of those quirky black/white UB issues like playdates. I'm constantly amazed at the vitriol aimed by some around playdates, as if they're some modern evil invention of our generation! Several of my friends have pm slots. Even if their children were napping when they accepted the space, they had dropped their naps by fall.
