Unreal Tournament 3 was a disgrace, it had none of the imagination, creative design, fast compelling gameplay, or pure fun as Unreal Tournament.

If you enjoy Monster Kills, Facing Worlds, and pelvic thrusts, you'll love Danny's Random Encounter with Unreal Tournament.
Maybe i'm the only one (or maybe not) but i would like to see a new Unreal Tournament game for the pc and if possible either current gen or next gen consoles.
@Ranma_X_basic Well, there is still Unreal Tournament 3; but it doesn't get much attention simply because, in my opinion, the feel of UT can only be captured via older graphics/physics engine and movement.
It's almost like asking to recreate Pac-Man in next-gen, it just won't work because the mechanics of the game are meant to be old.
I am 41, I started on Castle Wolfenstein, then Doom, Quake, and the Unreal Tournament, which is ultimately my most favorite FPS ever. I just downloaded STEAM to see if I can give some body some!!!
I love the one when u had to stop a train.
So many good memorys.
Epic always had so many Great Map packs for free,Quake you had to pay throu the nose.
Yeah this was great too. But back in that time, multiplayer deathmatch for me was Quake III Arena all the way. All I ask of iD software, after the Rage botch-up, is to release something like Quake V Arena! That would be the best news.
Overall, this is the best game I've ever played. Nothing like it for individual rewards and team play rewards. The variety in weapons, weapon functionality, maps, game types is amazing. I still yearn for another arena shooter that "understands" what an arena shooter should be! There's an enormous player base out there waiting for someone to create the next great one and there is so much scope there to push the genre on - particularly on the eSports and community features side of things.
Unfortunately, all gaming studios seem to think that we want yet another Counter Strike (or CoD for those too young to remember CS) clone with real weapons and recoil. Its time to look back to find the future of successful FPS games!
Unreal is still the best shooter franchise ever made. If they make a new one it will continue the tradition.
I always liked Unreal Tournament better than Quake 3 because of the assault game mode. Those were the most memorable moments I had in an MP game.
Unreal Tournament 99 game of the year edition : 9.99
Unreal Tournament 2004 editors choice edition : 14.99
Unreal Tournament 3 Black Edition : 19.99
These are currently available on steam.. So if you guys are wanting to get back into it, go to steam if you cant find a physical copy of these amazing games that re-defined the genre.
Announcer-Monster kill!!... Holy Shi***t!!
I grew up with UT2004, back then I was just a noob with PC games. I believe either Halo CE or UT2004 was my first online fps pc game.
I absolutely love the soundtrack, to this day I often work my designs and listen to it.
@HairyDweeb you sold/lost your copy? wtf is wrong with you? I have every single physical UT release ever made, my fav game of all time, god I was good at it too, until a pro made me look like a noob. :P But I had revenge :P
@Juguard @HairyDweeb I still have Unreal Tournament III for PC and the 360 but UT 2004 and 99 are my favorite. I'm already on eBay looking for a copy and downloaded the UT2004 demo, there's a server up on there. I was good at it too and will be addicted again in a few days :)
@HairyDweeb @Juguard I miss those days, I would love it if more people would still play it. I love the raw UT, there are way too many mods for it nowadays, I just want to replay the classic maps with core gameplay online with people :)
My addiction to this game (UT 2004 though) stopped like 5 years ago because I sold the game. Actually I bought and sold it like 4-5 times to keep from playing it too much. InstaGib, low grav, 1.35x speed and translocators on. Barn was one of the simplest maps but oh so much fun. heck yeah.
Try Quake Live, improved version of Quake 3 Arena that is free to play.

SO the best game ever made!!! loved the comment about how UT bests game then crappy gears afterwards ha!! suck that epic.. stop making gears.. we need more tournaments :D :D
Aw man......so many memories. Reminded me of MDK too.
This video and the Quake 3 one are just pretty much all you need to explain 90s PC gaming
Epic Games realy need to create Unreal Tournament 4 ! Its my favourite genre yet !
As much as a Id Software Fan I was and still am, I do think Unreal Tournament was much better then Quake 3 Arena and it's still my preferred arena shooter game.
This was the first PC game i ever bought, i tried Quake 3 but it felt tiny and the maps turned me off after a while.
Man, long time no see. If Epic could combine all the best parts from each UT game, it could be a BLAST of a game.
god i love that game. When danny did that 'play video games 4 24 hours 4 charity thing' they played unreal tournament online and I couldn't get in because i didn't have my copy any more(it was 12 years ago thats a long time to keep a cd). he should have told us so the community could have got in on the fun this time as well
he thinks 4 buildings in morpheus is great? I once saw a map that bumped it to five, then doubled that mirrored, colour coded it all and BAM- CTF map with low grav. Morpheus City, i think it was called.
I loved the way this vid ended with 'coming up- Unreal Tournament'. Yep- it's pretty much all we'll ever need from now on.
Does anybody remember that ba**ard Loque? Everytime you played a level with him present chances are he would kill you. Fortunately, if he was on your team for capture the flag, you would have won hands down.
@TheEveryMan All too well! The 'Xan' guy from the tournament mode was a cakewalk compared to Loque
It's such a same that I wasn't a PC gamer back when this game was released. However, its cool to see where the roots of the unreal engine started. And nice to know that a game like this can still be playing online. Hiliarous to listen to Danny's commentary when he does these bits, Random Encounter is definitely my favor segment.
I've loved UT for years now. I still rock the GOG (DRM-free) version regularly.
I wanna see a Random Encounter of UT2004! Even by current graphics standards, UT2004 looks gorgeous.
played the demo of this back in the day and it just blew me away how raw and addictive it was. The demo back then has more hours of gameplay than many full games nowadays
Unreal tournament, hands down the best multiplayer FPS ever created in gaming history. Not debatable, this is a fact, i almost got kicked out of both highschool and grammar school for spending too much time on this game and faking sickness haha
