Well the thing is if you want to keep something scary then you make a enemy that is different with different tactics that you dont understand, people are afraid of things they dont understand so to keep something horrific is making it mysterious most of the time. Look at lost series, scary until you knew what was going on, zombies, scary until you knew what killed them.... That is why things stop being scary.

Dead Space 3 is out, and not everybody's happy about it. Johnny steps into Isaac's sweaty suit to see what you've been saying about EA's latest.
This show is just silly now
Least Start/Select had a mix of the good and the bad round up of comments. This is just full of idiots (yes I know its the point of the show) just looking for attention. I would like to see that not all gamers are mentally challenged
I haven't played the game yet but Johnny has a point about horror. There does reach a point where you can get down when things are going to pop out and such but I do believe there are ways to work around it. Resident Evil 2 added Mr X in scenario B, Resident Evil 3 added Nemesis, Code Veronica had those long arm things always appearing and I found the atmosphere to be a bit more scary. Resident Evil 0 took it a step up by having you control 2 characters at once and sometimes having to make them split up as well as not having item boxes which was annoying but you had to leave items in safe rooms and if you needed an item not in your inventory that involved going back for it. If you did not kill some enemies to save bullets then every trip to and from that safe room meant getting injured or possible death. The remake added crimson heads if you did not burn the bodies and Lisa Trevor which I find to be the scariest thing in a RE to date. Resident Evil 4 changed the formula much more and I liked it. Say what you want about 4 but I agree it is not "Scary" but rather creepy which I thought worked.
I think action can work in a horror game if done right and the game can still remain scary. Lost in Nightmares was pretty scary and it wasn't as action heavy as the main game it shows there is a way.
ahahahaha, that last comment requires a facepalm so hard it would take my head clean off.
lol i dont much care about the game being scary or not...but this made me laugh my ass off...hahaaha made my day
"I dont like games where i cant jump" bwahahahahaahaha
For all you old hardcore gamers who used to play games back in 90's when games were not dumb down; try play this game on Impossible, gives you that old school feel. There are a few times were the game is crazy because you fight 8 necromorphs in one small room but the game is intense. I hope this difficulty pushes my game play to 20+
Shame on you Johnny, you chose the wrong topic.
Ppl know about this series and a lot of them are actively trolling around. And you are feeding them. >.>
Now people are raging about reviews just to "star" in Feedbackula, making the show into a vampire drinking its own blood.
Went through it casually.A good game but not really a horror game...it has some intense moments though.
The first half of the game is actually pretty good.as far as being a true DS game, there is no true DS game. They're all different. The First one felt like Event Horizon X Alien. The second was more Aliens. The third was Alien Resurrection mixed with The Thing. It wasn't a bad game but it wasn't scary either. Not like the first one, where I had no idea what was going on or what was after me.
But the Blair Witch Project wasn't scary - I watched it alone in the dark at night and found it incredibly boring. Sorry, I'm not trying to sound hard or anything like that. I'm simply a horror fan who finds Blair Witch a touchy subject.
Anyway good show as always :)
The feedbackula is so awesome, just goes to show how many morons visit this site.
I don't even care if the game has been rated a 3 or a 10, I ejoyed the comments that you got from all the gamers.
Too funny.
C'mon Johnny, next time throw in another NAVY promo, just for old time's sake! Please?
Tell the bosses to EF OFF, the viewers enjoy it
Can't believe GameSpot is taking the mick out of its readers. That is definitely a shame.
@llamahead1 @TheIfym20 it's all in good fun. Lol it was hard at first, I knew he hated the RE6 comments so it just made sense to include that.
There's a difference between (atleast trying) maintaining an Atmosphere and sense of horror and adding cliche holywood moments + a little over the top quantity of action.
Yeah I knowthat this series is amazing but after two games in the series the franchise becomes predictable...
im loving this game right now and i got for 30 bucks so i wont complain about the DLC
Sweet feedbackula.
dS3 looks pretty good but I hate that I have to get used to micro transactions. I won't use them.
The dlc thing is getting tired tho. GS should be doing more thorough reviews of DLC so consumers can have an idea of value prior to purchase.
I like Phil Collins too.
Dead Space 1 and 2 are my favorite but 3 is just.....ok not the best but i like it but not for the horror!!
I agree with Jonneh leave Phil Collins alone!!! Besides it's just a review, gamers will complain no matter what. Even if the game is perfect, they'll find one thig to rant about.
Sadly for me, that Dead Space1 and 2 had too much needed combat to make the game scary. If you're pacing through the game well enough, you'll end up getting into gun battles every few minutes. This really ruined the horror aspect for me of these two titles. I don't recall a single moment where my heart was racing in fear. This was the reason I didn't buy the 3rd.
@Kos1c Alan Wake had exactly what you're talking about, such a psychologically scary game ...I was so happy when the day came, such relief.
@krbrown10 I've played Alan Wake, it was a great game. Got it on the day it released and didn't put it down till I had completed it. I didn't get around to playing the stand alone DLC 'American Nightmare.'
