Hitman HD Trilogy trailer rocks up - three games, 40 levels, 75 hits

Also includes Hitman: Sniper Challenge

The Hitman HD Trilogy will launch on 1st February in the UK, tomorrow in the Yewnided Stades, and in accordance with time-honoured tradition, Square Enix has gone and released a launch trailer.

If you're new to the HD Trilogy, it's more of a Quartet - besides Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money, the compilation also includes the surprisingly entertaining albeit short-lived preorder incentive Hitman: Sniper Challenge. You won't be able to to transfer items from this version of the latter to any other game, however.

We'll have a review for you as and when it is within our power to produce one. Matt raved about the latest Hitman instalment, Hitman Absolution, but some of you weren't convinced. Any further post-mortems to share?

  1. So they haven't used the best textures and Blood Money looks worse than the 360 version? Did they just Upscale the resolution and do nothing else for the games? Bit annoying.

Yeah it looks like an "HD" remake in the most minimal way possible. All its really done is reveal the low res textures. This results in the bizarre situation where the standard definition versions actually looked better. Its a shame as it could have been amazing with all new textures and particle effects.
Its also a shame they didn't include the first game.

  3. I'm gonna check my pc version to see what the highest setting textures are like and just play that if they're better, I thought they'd put some effort into it like for MGS HD.

Contracts is 90% of the first game you know, the other 10% is set in between the theatre hit in Blood Money, with 47 bleeding out and 'remembering' his best hits, or just the first game backwards.

  4. You can get 1, 2 and blood money on steam for under 4 quid at the minute.

It annoys me when they do these HD sets and actually seem to actively put in work to make it worse. It put me off the silent hill set.

  5. Hitman was a series that has always interested me, but that I never got round to playing. This could be the perfect excuse for me to join in the fun.

Yeah, I got the Hitman Collection, the Professional edition of Absolution and the Suit and Gun DLC for under £20 on Steam. They even threw in the Sniper Challenge and I've got Contracts on disc as well, so my Hitman collection is complete. I might actually finish one of them now.

  7. Wasn't Blood Money already in HD?

  8. I have the steam version of 2, and the xbox GoD version of blood money. Neither has contracts, achievements for C or SA so it should be worth it for those alone. However, having looked at the SA on steam full specs I expected a bit more but we'll see. Unless it gets scathing reviews I'm sticking with my preorder.

  9. my tv has never played blood money, something to do with ghz,so i have 1 question ,having silent assassin every other one ,is it worth buying.

  10. hm, do you mean Hz? Just go into standard def AV input on your xbox, switch the settings to 60Hz for display settings, then plug your HD thing back in and bobs your uncle. Also the game will work. Blood Money is top notch, not sure if I prefer it level wise to SA or contracts but gameplay wise it is the best.

I had that problem as I was using a monitor the xbox didn't give me the choice to run it at all, had to connect up an old crt tv and change the settings, then change back. Such a falaffle.
