Country music favourite, Troy Cassar-Daley has taken home an impressive four Golden Guitars from his seven nominations at tonight’s 2013 Country Music Awards of Australia.

Troy proved that he is a hands down favourite with Australian audiences, taking out ‘Male Artist Of The Year’, the prestigious ‘Album of the Year’ award for his album Home, ‘Single of the Year’ for Country Is and ‘APRA Song of the Year’ for the title track from the album, Home.

Performing live on the night, country music sweetheart Catherine Britt, won the coveted ‘Female Artists of the Year’ award while charismatic duo Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson won ‘Group or Duo of the Year’. Chelsea Basham took out the ‘Telstra New Talent of the Year’ award for Laugh It Off.

The star studded evening featured not only performances by Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson, Troy Cassar-Daley, Catherine Britt, McAlister Kemp and Chelsea Basham, but a host of star presenters and special tributes to Geoff Mack and the late Jimmy Little AO who passed away in April.

A surprise appearance at the 2013 Country Music Awards of Australia, was Lucky Starr, who joined the Sunny Cowgirls and Pete Denahy on stage in an upbeat finale performance of Geoff Mack’s I’ve Been Everywhere.

Lucky Starr recorded the first hit version of I’ve Been Everywhere in 1962. It has since been recorded by over 130 artists including Johnny Cash.
