Soldier & Family Assistance Center (SFAC) Welcome to the Soldier and Family Assistance Center! Nowhere is the Army’s commitment to providing Soldiers and Families with a quality of life commensurate with their service stronger than in the area of medical care and physical recovery and rehabilitation. During military operations in particular, the Army redoubles its efforts to provide the best possible care for wounded, ill and injured Soldiers. SFAC uses a “one-stop shop” approach to assure that services and program are conveniently co-located in a single facility, in most cases on the WTB footprint/campus for more efficient access to the Soldiers and their Families. The center is staffed with professional personnel who use their diverse knowledge and skills to help Soldiers in Transition with their specific recovery and rehabilitation issues. A critical element of the Army’s “Soldiers in Transition” program is to ensure the most efficient and convenient delivery of medical, administrative, and psycho-social support services and enable the close, ongoing involvement of Families in recovery and rehabilitation processes. Key to the success in helping our wounded, ill and injured Soldiers and their Families is providing a family-friendly, relaxed environment that promotes physical, spiritual and mental healing and maximizes the convenience of obtaining and navigating and accessing needed services. The SFAC has a 3-tiered delivery approach:
