FORT KNOX VISUAL INFORMATION CENTER

The Fort Knox Visual Information Center (VIC) is a branch of the Plans and Operations Division of the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS).  It is a full service Visual Information support activity comprised of Photography, Graphics/Fabrication, Presentation Support, TV/Multimedia Production and AV Equipment Loan.

VIC is the authorized Visual Information Center for Fort Knox and the designated geographical area. Fort Knox VIC supports official functions, training and significant events with a wide range of Visual Information (VI) products and services.  All requests for these functions/services must be submitted at the Visual Information Ordering Site.

VIC Mission

• Serves as the Installation Manager for implementation of DA/G-6 and IMCOM Visual Information Policy and procedures.
• Manages the operation of a full service Integrated VIC activity as authorized by Army G-6.
• Implements Army G-6 IMCOM and Garrison directives, policy and procedures.
• Prepares and submits funding and manpower POM requirements to ensure support of authorized mission.
• Submits VI System Program (VISP) requirements for OPA funding.
• Installation purchase approval authority for all installation AV/VI equipment costing $49.0K or less.
• Provides regional video production and documentation in support of IMCOM directed projects.

Location: Fort Knox VIC is located on the northwest corner of the first floor of Gaffey Hall, Bldg # 2369, on Old Ironsides Ave.
Normal office hours are Monday through Friday from 0730-1600 hrs

Presentation Support Services

Fort Knox VIC provides portable presentation support for Battalion level and above official events.  All requests must be submitted at the Visual Information Ordering Site.  Presentation support includes major Garrison Installation Events, Command Programs, Conferences and Symposiums, conducted during the normal duty day, (0700-1700) Monday thru Friday. IAW the VIC Standard Level of Support, C4IM and Fort Knox Inter-Service Support Agreements, those activities that require presentation support after normal duty hours must provide reimbursement.

Audio-Visual Loan & Issue Services

Fort Knox VIC provides loan and issue of audio-visual equipment such as projectors, screens, podiums and portable PA systems to authorized users in the Fort Knox area of support. Portable sound support for unit level activities and functions are supported by temporary loan and issue of required equipment. Customers requesting loan and issue of video projectors, sound equipment, speakers, podiums, and similar equipment must have an authorized hand receipt record on file with the VIC. All requests must be submitted at the Visual Information Ordering Site. Customers must have an established hand receipt account with VIC in order to utilize this service.
