Wind AKA The Gentle, Penetrating

This trigram is the symbol of cultivation in the bottom position of a hexagram, and influence, of becoming influential, when in the top position of a hexagram. One of the six 'mixed' trigrams, symbolic of the interaction of degrees of yin and yang.

In the IDM template it is representative of contractive binding and thus an overall bias to completing distinctions through the influencing of relationships between inner and outer. In emotions this trigram is associated with that of anticipation, reflecting the overall focus on cultivation and so becoming influential. The negative aspect is anticipation of something negative and as such the below MBTI link to monitors etc in that there is a LACK of trust in others and so a need for continuous monitoring.

The association with wind is through the subtle manner in which wind can influence as compared to the load, sudden, 'in-your-face' nature of the complement trigram, Thunder.

In Chinese Five-Phase theory, Wind is linked to the concept of WOOD and so the concept of PRODUCTION but through RE-production and cultivation of, 'cooking' of, something 'raw'.

In the Myers-Briggs/Keirsey systems of persona classification it is linked to XSTJ/Monitors and is mostly concerned with security seeking through relational monitoring (e.g. Umpires, Auditors, Administrators).

The numeric link is with complex numbers (transitions, transcendence and transformations). The Peircean Category is Thirdness as Passive/Implicit MEDIATION.
