Windows Phone 7.8 reportedly arriving on January 30th for AT&T; Lumia 900 owners

After announcing Windows Phone 7.8 back in June, Microsoft has remained tight lipped on the exact availability of the update for existing users. The software maker has promised early 2013, but it appears that the update will be available to some devices at the end of the month. Microsoft posts $21.46 billion revenue for Q2 2013, Windows division up despite PC decline

Microsoft's Q2 2013 earnings report is in, and the company is announcing revenue of $21.46 billion — just a 2.7 percent increase from the same period last year. Earnings per share for the quarter were $0.76 and Microsoft recorded $6.38 billion net income. While PC sales are slowing down, Microsoft's Windows division posted revenue of $5.88 billion, a 24 percent increase from the prior year thanks to the launch of WIndows 8. Microsoft reiterated its 60 million Windows 8 license figures, with no extra details on its momentum.

The Windows division also revealed that 60 percent of enterprise desktops worldwide are now running Windows 7, highlighting the way businesses are moving away from XP to a more modern OS. Non-OEM revenue grew 40 percent thanks to Windows 8 upgrades, Surface, and volume licensing deals.
