The dress originally went for a price of £15.99

An eBay listing went viral last week when a seemingly innocent photo of a dress actually contained a naked girl.

EBay user Aimi Jones, who goes by the eBay username "sugartit_2," posted an Asos Yellow Skater Dress on the site for a price of £15.99. The photo shows the yellow dress hanging on a door, but a mirror to the side of the door reveals something entirely different: a naked Jones.

Jones is only wearing a bra in the mirror's reflection as she points the digital camera at the dress. After the photo started spreading around the Internet, Jones took the listing down and later re-posted another. In the new photo, she is only wearing a parka -- still exposing her genitalia.

This goes to show that the naked picture likely wasn't an accident, but more of a scheme to get people to notice her listing and drive up the price. Fortunately for Jones, it worked. She ended up selling the dress for £153,911 ($245,000 USD) after the photo caught a ton of attention around the Web.

There are all sorts of Eula bits about lewd ad's... I do wish her luck but I doubt she will get the money.

1-ebay will likely invalidate the auction and force a refund
2-who in the hell pays 250k for something they cant touch !?

Whenever I have followed up on these types of ebay stories in the past they were always fake bids. I doubt anyone is going to pay.

What do you mean "can't touch"? You buy the dress and you get it shipped to you.

Uhm no, they were paying for naked girl + dress. Duh. Who cares that you can touch the dress when the girl didn't ship with it.

Actually they were paying for a dress made famous by a woman that inadvertently (or not) posed naked in a meme. That dress gained value by being owned by the woman and being the subject of the meme.

Hmm well maybe...

Well maybe what the users are really bidding on is the woman in the picture and that dress is just a bonus. ;)

I suspect that if someone has that kind of money to spend in a case like this, they hope to get the girl in the process as a trophy wife....
