GoGo Board Basics

Getting Started with the GoGo Board

Introduction to the GoGo Board

The GoGo Board is a small computer that can collect information from its environment. It uses sensors to detect light, temperature, moisture, and other characteristics. It can also activate motors, lights, and other devices.

The GoGo Board is programmable. This means that the information collected by sensors can be used to control output devices. For example:

  • A streetlight will go on and off automatically depending on whether it is night or day, depending on the amount of light detected by a light sensor.
  • An irrigation system will automatically turn on a pump when a moisture sensor detects that the ground is dry.
  • A robotic creature driven by electric motors can be programmed to seek out a warm place in which to come to rest.

We will look at these and other projects later in this course.
