Garfield County Sheriff's Department Cop Shop Report - Jan. 24, 2013

The Garfield County Sheriff's Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Immigration violation: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Hawthorne Way in Battlement Mesa on Jan. 15 at 7:31 a.m. After investigation, a man was found to be previously deported and was released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further processing.

Warrant arrest: On Jan. 16 at 3:05 p.m., deputies contacted Troy Allen Manzanares, 36, of Carbondale, at the Garfield County Community Corrections Center on County Road 333 outside Rifle. Manzanares had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken to jail.

Domestic disturbance: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on County Road 335 outside New Castle on Jan. 17 at 11:50 p.m. Josue Alberto Vega Herrera, 22, of New Castle, was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and violation of a restraining order. He was taken to jail.

Weapons report: Deputies took a report of a possible weapons violation in the 800 block of Garden Lane outside Rifle on Jan. 17 at 3:49 p.m. The case is closed pending further information.

Restraining order violation: Deputies contacted a man on County Road 335 outside New Castle on Jan. 18 at 5:23 p.m. After investigation, Josue Alberto Vega Herrera, 22, of New Castle, was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order and bail bond conditions. He was taken to jail.

Harassment calls: Deputies responded to harassment calls twice in two days at the same residence in the 700 block of Tamarisk Trail in Battlement Mesa, on Jan. 18 at 7:38 p.m. and on Jan. 19 at 10:12 a.m. Both calls were unfounded.

Dog at large: On Jan. 19 at 9:03 a.m., an animal control deputy learned of a dog at large in the area of Mineral Springs Circle and Little Phoenix Way in Battlement Mesa. The owner, Brandy Lee Garcia, 35, of Parachute, was issued a summons.

Dog at large: On Jan. 19 at 9:52 a.m., an animal control deputy was advised of a dog at large in the Cottonwood Springs Mobile Home Park, 27653 U.S. Highway 6 east of Rifle. The owner, Efren Dario Esparza, 62, of Rifle, was issued a summons.

Pot summons: Deputies contacted a vehicle on County Road 244 outside Rifle on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. Jonathon Anthony Sanchez, 18, of Rifle, and Joseph Baeza Jimenez, 18, of Glenwood Springs, were issued summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and less than two ounces of marijuana. A third youth, Shane Kenneth Emel Roberts, 18, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order and was taken to jail.

Menacing: Deputies responded to a reported menacing incident in the 800 block of West Battlement Parkway on Jan. 20 at 12:57 a.m. Williamlee Adonis Golden, 18, of Parachute, was arrested on suspicion of menacing with a weapon, criminal mischief, false imprisonment, prohibited use of a weapon, child abuse and illegal possession of alcohol. He was taken to jail.

Traffic violation, drug paraphernalia: Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of West Battlement Parkway in Battlement Mesa on Jan. 21 at 11:18 p.m. After investigation, Seth David Klinder, 18, of Parachute, was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and Jason Dale Shaver, Jr., 19, of Parachute, was issued a summons for a traffic infraction.
