Villanova will host the 2013 DI Women's Lacrosse Championship, the first time the event returns to Pennsylvania since 2007 when Northwestern won the third of five consecutive titles.
Jen Adams is the head coach for Loyola (Md.), but she made waves as an athlete for a program about 40 miles away. The Australian native helped Maryland win four titles during her collegiate career.

Northwestern held Syracuse scoreless in the final 19 minutes and won 8-6 to capture the national championship. The Wildcats have won seven of the last eight national championships.

Northwestern's Shannon Smith scored two goals in her final game, to lead the Wildcats to their seventh national title. Smith finished her career with numerous school records and three NCAA titles.
