GAME to host Gears of War: Judgment lock-ins - play Epic's latest over a month early

14 stores take part in scheme across February

GAME has announced another wave of store lock-in events, this time starring Epic and People Can Fly's Gears of War: Judgment. Did you attend any of the Dead Space 3 events from last month? Are you willing to sacrifice your recreational hours once again?

The game's out on 22nd March, and the first lock-in kicks off on 2rd February, so that's a whole month and a half you'll have over those feckless fools who settle for playing Judgment on release day. To register, send the store in question a tweet or sign up in person. You'll need to be 18 years of age or older - plunging underslung chainsaws into rampaging mutants is Grown-Up Fun.

New to Judgment? Read our enormous hands-on. Incidentally, first one to complain about the Americanised spelling gets a rueful nod and an exasperated poke in the shoulder. We don't get to name these games, pedants.

  1. Just goes to show, that just as with the previous lock-in, that people in the South-West (i.e. Devon and Cornwall) - don't play video games!

  2. pft, only one in the south (and anyway near me) is Portsmouth, and I'm not going there just to try a game I might not even like.

Both my local Game stores are probably too small to hold gaming nights, be good if they did though.

  3. None at my local unfortunately! Maybe next time

  4. Typical...Nothing where I live, nothing good ever happens in Northern Ireland

  5. Well considering that 1 person showed up for the Dead Space 3 event in the Sheffield Meadowhall store and they had 1 demo pod to play on its no surprise that the GOW lock in was shifted to the Sheffield Fargate store.

Know whhat will make these lock ins better ?

More demo pods (you cant demo GOW judgment with 1 pod, you need several. Maybe even go so far as a proper MP setup)

    Bigger dev and/or pub presence

    Freebies

MORE ADVERTISING. FFS GAME put something out there to tell people about the lockins, god knows the staff arnt doing it.
