Halo 4 Spartan Ops Episodes 6-10 detailed: Fireteam Crimson to journey beyond Requiem

343 promises "wide variety of locations" across 21st Jan till 24th Feb

Halo 4 Spartan Ops Season 1 is set to journey beyond planet Requiem, according to a Microsoft press release. The sixth episode is due on Monday, offering five new missions on what we sincerely hope are five new maps. It sees Fireteam Crimson chasing down dastardly rogue Covenant, who've made off with one of their comrades.

The next five Spartan Ops episodes will roll out a rate of once a week from 21st January through 24th February. "Reenlist with Fireteam Crimson as they search for Spartan Thorne on planet Requiem and come face-to-face with the threat of Jul 'Mdama and his cult of Covenant separatists," implores the release. "The intensity of Season One builds to its thrilling conclusion in Episodes 6-10 as the battle moves beyond Requiem to a wide variety of locations featuring epic vehicular combat and on-foot encounters with Prometheans and Covenant forces."

Also on the way next week, the introduction of Forge Maps to regular matchmaking via a special playlist, plus a brace of new Specialisations. We've already singled out a few of the best Halo 4 Forge maps, including a Jurassic Park homage and the most intricate Flood map I've laid eyes on - feel free to mention your favourites in the comments.

What are you hoping for from Spartan Ops Episode 6? I predict a return to that space research station from the Halo 4 campaign, the one built atop the asteroid. Pack a Grav Hammer, why don't you.

  1. Id love a level or two where you pilot the pelican or broadsword.

  2. More variety would be nice, actual objectives rather than the 'push buton and survive' thing that everyone other mission is.
Also be quite nice if some of the missions didn't require all enemies to be dead, so then we can experiment with stealth and such.

    Agreed

  3. Spartan ops is pretty terrible, played the first couple of episodes and just stopped as it's just mindless shooting against the enemies. The only good thing about it are the cg cut scenes but that's the only save-able feature of it, the voice acting is bad but not terrible and the worst is that you have to be gold to play them and there is no offline for it as they force you to play online.
