Kind of off topic, but has Microsoft released the details of the Ivy Bridge that’s in the Surface Pro? Is it possible that it could have the new lower powered IVB? If so, would this hurt its performance?

If you have a duo and yoga already, maybe it would be smart to wait for the Haswell Surface, if Microsoft makes one.

I don’t think they need to rethink the idea of the touch/type cover. They created a unique device that at most moments can function as a small laptop (might as well call it a table-top) and a tablet when needed. If you don’t like the idea of using this on your lap, or if you tend to do a lot of work on your lap, then maybe purchasing the Helix is better. But if you want the portability and option of using it as a table-top or a tablet, then choose the surface. You could always just flip the typecover to the back, and use the on screen keyboard when its on your lap.
I know the Helix can function as a tablet and LAPtop too, but for me, I would always carry the keyboard dock around just in case, which makes it a laptop. With the Surface Pro, I feel that the touchcover can function as a cover (keeping the device compact) and the added bonus is that its a keyboard when I need it.

I apologize for the tease. :)
I guess it would be nice if there was a 256 GB version, but at the very least, you can buy the 128 GB and a 64 GB micro SD. Not exactly the same, but at least that is an option. Not to mention the USB 3.0 for externals as well.

I would like “click points” though.

I think the hinge would have to be as big as the surface itself, of it would topple over. A laptop base is heavier and just as large as its screen. It would also have to be a tough hinge, unless you had…

22 gigs difference would make you want to rip it apart to install a better ssd? Sounds like it would be easier to just deal with the 22 gig difference or at the very most, buy a 64 gig microSD. But since you only need 22 gigs, you could get away with a 32 gig for like 20 bucks.

I love how everyone is ripping on the verge. I wonder if they have any idea how biased they are, and what their excuse is.

While your concept improves on the lack of an adjustable kickstand, I feel it creates an unstable tablet. A majority of the weight will most likely be in the tablet itself, with the arc-touch style kickstand being light weight. I feel this would make the surface want to “rock” itself over if you were to use the touch screen. Also, all of the force to hold it up would be placed on the hinges at the bottom of the surface. I do think it is a clever concept, I just don’t know how well it would work.
I think Microsoft did the best they could with the kickstand (although I would like to see more angles). I believe it would be hard to create something as functional and stable as a laptop is without having a majority of the product’s weight on the area that would rest on ones lap.
I give you an A for effort though. Or is it an E…
