I don't know... darksiders feels like that good old adventure games that I used to play on playstation 1, good but old fashioned. I am not familiar with the story, so it might be very good indeed, but I just don't feel like buying a game that looks like I've already played.

@foxtrot815 You sir are wrong.  Darksiders is awesome and unique.  It is my favorite franchise.  The old-fashioned look is part of it's charm and distinguishes the game from others.  But don't worry, the gameplay and combat is definitely there.  It's a shame that Joe Madureira and part of the staff have left the team after completing the 2nd game.  I doubt that if they make a third one it will be as good.  But still those two first games are very worth playing.  At least play the 2nd it's great.

@Keaze_  Well, like I said, I believe it could be very good in fact. I've played it for just half an hour, and maybe I'll give it a better try later on. Thanks for the info!

I've never given this game much thought. However, after watching this video review it kinda reminds me of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, which I loved all those years ago. Has anyone played both of these and would you recommend this game to someone who really enjoyed Soul Reaver?

The first few games for every system have difficulties attached to them. This is nothing new, does no-one remember the PS3 at launch?

give wii u time.... remember early 3rd party game ports to PS3 were inferior to 360, but it improved over time and became the better version later on (except.... Bethesda ports.... *skyrim*...still irritated had to sell ps3 version)

it will get better....

@silversix_ The first games on a new console never seem to be that big of a step up. Look at games like Perfect Dark Zero or Kameo compared to games that released for the 360 this year. Give it time and the Wii U will get better.

The games you reference don't look as good as the latest games but they were a leap in visual quality from XBOX/PS2/GC games and besides so far this isn't even a small step up, it's a downgrade, from what I've seen up to now, the games look worse, have choppy frame rates and even load slower/more often. sure developers haven't had much time with the system yet but I think that a lot of people were hoping that the Wii U would be at least able to outperform a 7 year old system, launch games or not. I didn't expect a XBOX to XBOX360 style leap but I expected better than this.

@Dekanis  @Yulaw2000 I agree with the sentiment here, except for using Aliens as an example. I can guarantee that game will be appealingly bad.

"It has a different infrastructure. The issue lies in developers having to work out how to use the system to its fullest"

Yes, but from what Nintendo and even the developers of this game have said the Wii U is easy to develop for, so I think that most people ware expecting the game to be at the very least on par with the version running on 7 year old hardware.

"the developers of this game stated that they never intended on improving the game graphically"

That wouldn't be too bad, but this is a downgrade.

"Playing (original) Xbox games on a 360 can cause the games to suffer graphical issues, this may be a similar problem"

doubtful as that's emulation, that's very different from porting

"we've been assured that Aliens: Colonial Marines will look its best on the WiiU"

I would advise you to take that with pinch of salt until we see more. I'm hope we will see improvement over time but from the games we have seen (including Nintendo's own games) the system may unfortunately, in some ways be less capable than what we have had for almost 7 years, as hard as that may be to believe.

It has a different infrastructure. The issue lies in developers having to work out how to use the system to its fullest. However, the developers of this game stated that they never intended on improving the game graphically, from the beginning of the porting process they said that the only changes they are focusing on is gameplay.

You can't expect a port to be a massive jump visually, especially if the developers don't put the effort into it. You can expect developers to become much more accustomed to the console and improve in that way as the system progresses. The fact that developers don't fully understand how to use the power behind the system is why ports may suffer from glitches and issues at points.

Playing (original) Xbox games on a 360 can cause the games to suffer graphical issues, this may be a similar problem, as the game was not built with the system in mind. Just wait for developers who are actually making games FOR the system to make use of its power.

Remember, we've been assured that Aliens: Colonial Marines will look its best on the WiiU according to developers. That it still just a port, but they're making use of it as much as they can. Things will improve as time goes on.

No one seem to be praising the touch screen controller.

I don't think developers have had enough time to really figure out the system yet, which is why we're hearing about all these frame rate issues and whatnot. Hoping things improve quickly.  I'm sure the pressure of getting this out for launch on time didn't help matters.

It is funny how we said is this bad port or the system?? In truth Its really just  Nintendo's fault not the system. Nintendo stated to Developers that they  would have a easy time of just porting the 360 version of this game  and it was' not was as seemed or  Nintendo gave most of them bad dev kits. There is so much stuff that happens in Development process that its basically impossible to tell what is the outcome I know that from a friend who is in the business.

Does it mean its a bad port with those issues? or is it the Wii U itself?
