In line waiting. I'm the only one here. Will be a last minute decision on which model I get. First time ever getting a launch system. Because it is a Sony system I'm listening to Final Gantasy VII reunion. It seems fitting.

I got it, and played it only for a little bit. I usually loathe working early shifts, this time I really loathe and disgust the early shift.  Wish I could play it for a while but alas, I must go to bed to be a slave to the wage.

Well, I told Matt I'd get one when Persona 4 Golden comes out, so it looks like I'll have one of these on June 14th.

I feel like a little kid on Christmas Eve. Can't wait to get this tomorrow. Hope I do not run into issues getting everything I want. Going to try and find a case for it in the wild too.

Spacemonkey what did you end up getting? Tell us tomorrow.

Okay I got my stuff today:

3G/Wifi Vita with the 8GB memory card

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Lumines: Electronic Symphony

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational

A Carrying Case (just want something to put it in when I am not using it)

Tried all the games, but not for all that long. Still trying to figure out all the stuff. Shooting was a little weird in Uncharted. Going to try it without motion aiming on. Maybe that will help. Lumines felt like Lumines with a few new twists. Had to quit partway through my first run to show the Vita to my brother. And the battery ran out when I was playing Hot Shots.

Trip posted, "Shooting was a little weird in Uncharted. Going to try it without motion aiming on. Maybe that will help."

Is it the feel of the stick or what? I'm still considering the Amazon B2G1 deal since it lasts through saturday and Uncharted is one of only three I am debating. Maybe write a first impressions review from a fanboy perspective?

My Vita shipped today @noon with 2-day shipping so I won't have it until friday at best. It sucks but I saved $50 so I can wait. I'll just be insanely jealous until then.

*edit* I just saw a video of the Netflix app up and running. Yay! Now it needs Flash support for Youtube.

I will try and let you know by tomorrow how I feel about the aiming. I want to give it a bit of time. It might be my unfamiliarity with the sticks, but I am definitely not my usual self in this game. There hasn't been much shooting in the first three levels I played. More exploration/climbing.

Got a full run of Lumines in earlier. Had 973,000 or so. Wasn't signed in though so it didn't go on the leaderboard. Going to try again tonight. Hopefully break 1 million. Game is great and I love the soundtrack. Got in a real zone earlier with some headphones on like the old PSP days. Felt awesome.

I got the 3G/Wi-Fi.  I haven't really looked into signing up for the 3G, but isn't that what you have to do to get your free game and free month of 3G?  I also bought Uncharted, and the starter kit.  So now I've got 12 GB worth of storage, which should hold me over for a while.  I think I might put some PS1 games on the 4GB card, if it allows you to play those any ways.  I sitll need to finish off Final Fantasy VI, which I was doing pretty all right in.

I need to put my screen protector on, because I know somehow it will get scratched even though when I don't use it it is in a case.  Also, the case that comes with the starter kit is rather lame, but I couldn't pass up on everything you get.  I think I might buy the standard $20 Sony Vita case, and use the case with the starter kit in that one.

Uncharted was a little hard to get used to, because the sticks move so free and easily.

It seems like Matt's comments on the trophies not syncing up with your PS3 trophies is a reality, which is a real bummer deal for me.  It's not my fault the rest of my friends are cheap and won't buy a Vita.

Yeah, you have to sign up for a month of 3G @ $14.99 for 250mb or $30 for 3G. Then you will get a code for a free month of the 250mb service. After that is up you get a code for Super Stardust Delta and its DLC (which is normally $15 retail). So basically it's AT&T and $ony trying to teabag consumers. At least that's what I can decipher.

As for the PSone Classics, I don't think the update for allowing you to play them from the memory stick is out yet. From what I've read that update is coming soon but for now you can only remote play off your PS3. And so far the only remote play besides those is Ultimate MVC3 and Hustle Kings. Whish is cool for MVC3.

About cases- If you don't want the sleeve from the starter kit I'll gladly work out an offer or trade with you since that's the only part of the kit I'm interested in. I love the one for my PSP.

God, I'm so jealous of you guys. I'm so hoping for Friday but prepared for Monday because life sucks.

I like the zip up cases, but the sleeve is so tight it could easily fit in the zip up case too.

That sucks about the PS One games being unable to play right now, because I can only see Final Fantasy VI getting pushed back while I play Uncharted.  Guess that will temporarily give me a reason to keep on playing my PSP.  I was also hoping to see how my favorite game of all time looked on there, and that's Final Fantasy VII.  I know it won't make it an HD phenomenon, but I was curious as to how the colors would be.  Guess I'll have to wait.

Anyone watch something from Netflix on there?  I might watch an episode of Parks and Recreation to see how that looks.

I was really looking forward to grabbing FFVII and FFIX right away. Here is an excerpt from the Wired interview with Shuhei Yoshida-

"Yoshida: Yeah, yeah, I am too. I get a lot of tweets asking about, when are PS1 games coming to the store? The goal was, we get all PSP downloadable games to work on PS Vita, and the PS1 games to work on PS Vita. From a PSP emu standpoint, we are almost there. Ninety-plus percent of PSP PSN games are already on the Japanese store to download. And the team is focusing on getting the U.S. and European launch as good in terms of coverage of the PSP titles on the store. So that’s the focus. Because of that, we are really trying for a high percent of the PSP games to go on the PS Vita for launch in the U.S. and Europe. After that we will shift focus to get PS1 games on PS Vita. It’s still going to happen, but we cannot tell when. I’m hoping for sooner rather than later."

*edit* forgot to link to the full article from where I got the excerpt the above

Thanks for the info!  Good to know that it is coming eventually.  I need some Cloud Strife action on this system.  Playing old PS One games was one of hte major reasons why I preferred my PSP to my DS.

Ended up really getting into Uncharted tonight. Was going to bounce between my titles again, but didn't want to put Uncharted down and played up to about about Chapter 14 or so. I think the aiming just needs some getting used to. I feel much better with it now. I turned motion off for regular aiming though for all I know I may have just not given it a fair shot. Pretty good amount of variety in the gameplay and there is a ton of stuff to collect between pictures, treasures, bounties and so on. Just so much stuff. Not really much in the way of setpieces though if you were expecting them after 2/3. Some of the touch/motion controls they have in the game are pretty meh. Mainly balancing on beams and the swipe based fist fight finishers. Most of the others are optional or not that bad. Having a lot of fun with it.

My Vita and games were delvered yesterday. I have to say, I was totally suprised when I saw the game boxes. I haven't been in any stores lately, so I had no idea they were that small ! I like that they look like minitaure PS3 game cases.

I'll be charging it up Saturday morning and giving Uncharted a test run that afternoon. The interesting thing is the first PS3 game I played was Uncharted.

I was happy to see that I could redownload the games I bought digitaly at the PS Store. I hope they make Brave Story playable though.  PSP games look awsome on the screen.  As always with me when a Sony system comes out, it's an RPG or HotShots.  This might be the most fun I have had with a HS game since the PSP launch.  Something about taking it with you I guess. Besides looking awsome. I am having more fun with Little Deviants as well. Trying to roll them around from the back touchscreen is fun if not a little frustrating at times.  Love the analog sticks, I almost can't believe how much different and way more enjoyable Uncharted or any games similar to it is with them.  Looks like that is going to be something pretty big as another selling point for the Vita.  There is almost nothing that they can't port over now.  Touchscreen is sometimes to responsive.  I make selections by accident sometimes by waving my finger over the screen before actually touching it. So glad I got the first edition bundle.  I think back to the PS2 launch and how cool it was having one when most people didn't.  >_<

Uncharted is pretty great.  I just got to chapter 9.  The only real knock I'd have on it is that the enemies seem like idiots sometime.  Running up and stealth killing them is really easy.  So easy Solid Snake would be impressed.  Other than that, everything seems great so far to me.  I kind of wish I had another game to play to give opinions on, but I don't.

I tried that Table Soccer game yesterday and it was just really frustrating.  When it comes to soccer, I guess I like real soccer.

I wonder what people are going to knock on this system?  Before it was the lack of a second analog stick, now it has it, and it seems gamers are always complaining about something.

I was wondering if that AR soccer game was any good. I really hope Vita and 3DS start making use of the AR thing. Like Pokemon cards and D&D. Even those Spyro toys.

My Vita and Shinobido are scheduled for delivery tomorrow /excited!

Broke a million in Lumines :D The music and visuals are really awesome. I have only tried Voyage so far. Going to try some other modes later.

Really enjoying Lumines so far, even if Trip's scores are making me despair! No idea how you get to 1 million.

Impressd by how comfortable the Vita is to hold and use. Can't get enough of that screen either - its huge and games like Uncharted look so pretty running on it.

@SpaceMonkey- The only things I can really complain about so far are 1) how the system software feels restrictive like an Apple product and 2) Netflix and remote play are a little sluggish. And that's just me being a dick and looking for something to bitch about =p

@toomanywires- I, too, am super impressed at how comfortable and easy it is to use. One would think the vast array of input options would guarantee carpal tunnel but it's so intuitive it almost feels natural.

play-spiddy is my gamertag if anyone wants to add me. Right now I only have Shinobido. I'm thinking about jumping on Hot Shots and Wipeout if I can find another game for the B2G1 Amazon deal.

I'm really loving the Vita so far. I've been playing nothing but ModNation Racers. The gameplay is fantastic and a lot of fun. I know a lot of people are turned off by the lack of online multiplayer but I guess it doesn't bother me since I grew up playing Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing by myself all the time. Kart racers are still fun by yourself, really :P

As far as the creation, I've only tried the mod creation since that's all I'm really good at. It's not as good as the PS3, when I group a lot of stickers together on my mod there's quite a bit of slow down so I'll avoid making any mods with a lot of detail. I'll post a pic of my mod when I'm done, I still need to unlock a certain tool in the career to complete her :D

I also bought Escape Plan but haven't even played it yet. I hope it's as awesome as it looks. And I don't plan on buying any more games for my Vita until Gravity Rush. Until then hopefully I can pay off the debt I've built up by purchasing the Vita and a 32GB memory card...

I definitely agree that it is very comfortable to hold. The PSP was tough to play for over an hour and I will admit I played this for a good two hours in one sitting a couple of times now. Not complaints at all.

I did try out Netflix too. Seemed pretty sweet, but I only watched maybe five minutes of a Lost episode. I wanted to get back to my games. Been really addicted to Uncharted and Lumines. Haven't played as much of Hot Shots, but it is fun. Hoping some other people might get it so we can try and play it online. Not sure how that works, but I'd like to try it.

@p-spiddy: How is Shinobido?

@Chocobot: I'd curious how the track creation is. I thought the touch screen controls would make it easier. The career mode is all new right? Does it have a different story and all new courses?

Also, I have heard they are holding back releasing Gravity Rush in the US pretty much for the sole purpose of staggering releases which is a bummer. I think probably May or June. Oh well, I will have plenty to play on this until then, but was really excited for this.

I'm really considering Hot Shots since I haven't played one since PS2. I'm pretty ticked that ModNation isn't multiplayer. Uncharted I can deal with. ModNation? Really?

Shinobido 2 is great if you liked Tenchu 1&2. The graphics are pretty terrible though. I can't say I recommend it for over $20-25 unless you have cash to burn or REALLY like Tenchu. Luckily I'm the latter so I don't feel like I took a hit buying it at $28.

Damn, now I want Modnation Racers.  Chocobot is right, we all grew up playing Super Mariokart without online features.  Also, I've thought about getting Hot Shots because I really find the one I got for my PS3 fun, but none of my friends have that game.  If I could think of one other game I really would like to have, I would consider the buy 2 get one free deal.

Also, I agree on how comfortable it is.  When playing the PSP for a while, my hand would always cramp up.  Not with this sweet dog!

Does anyone else think all of the little things you can do in Uncharted (photos, charcoal scrubbings, treasures, etc...) are really awesome and really make you want to explore?  Really impressed with that.

There's a demo for Unit 13 in the PS store. Taking a while to download because it's 860mb. There's also 3 free AR games if anyone missed them.

*edit* Unit 13 is surprisingly fun. I'm definately gonna pick it up. Be warned about the download though; I had to force restart my Vita in order to get the sound to work. So, I'm guessing restart before launching the demo.

Trip, the courses in career mode are all new but there is no story to it at all. It's  basically just a series of races. This means the commentators are gone too. I guess ModNation really could have used more development time since it's missing some things but I'm still happy with it. I'll be sure to mention how the track creation is once I try it too.

I started the Unit 13 demo and it seemed pretty cool, but my battery died. Will finish try it tomorrow. Defintely worth downloading though if you want to try some shooting.

@Spacemonkey: Agreed on the collectibles in Uncharted. I think they do them better here than in any of the console games and they actually give you little routes to go off on to find them. More so than the other games I think. Plus actually having a bit more interaction with some of them like the photos and rubbings is pretty cool.

@Chocobot: At least they are all new tracks I guess. Kind of figured there'd be a new story.

Has anyone tried near? I turned the location settings on and while its kind of creepy, it's also pretty damn cool. It shows what the most popular games are in your area and who is playing near you. I don't really like how it shows the PSN avatars on a map and how far away they are from you... but its not like they have your personal information... just your PSN ID. I also like how you can see all the activity of all your friends. Right now it's a pretty barebones feature, but I think if they flesh it out a bit it could be pretty neat.

Also, I freaking love Hot Shots. I think it might be my favorite game so far... but maybe not, because Wipeout is pretty neat too.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm supposed to be doing with Near and what information it is or isn't giving out. Every time I turn it on I half expect to get a knock at the front door from a group of vita wielding mentalists. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually.

I'm still really enjoying Lumines and am hoping to get stuck into Uncharted tomorrow. Still very much in love with that screen.
