Note: This was originally posted on my other blogs, which are NSFW. I have edited this entry, so has not to upset any users who are/might be offended by strong language.

I am Pro-Gun. I do feel its alright for me to have access to a gun for protection. I LOVE guns. I enjoy playing Games and watching movies that have guns in them (Rambo, Grand Theft Auto, The Expendables 1 & 2, and even 3 when it comes out).

But I do NOT feel like I should have the same guns the Army has, i.e. Assault Rifles, unless I join the fracking Army.

It only takes one Bullet aimed in the right place on a person to stop or kill them. A Shotgun and or a Handgun can do the same thing - stop someone in their tracks.

I don’t want or need an assault rifle – it’s what we common sense folk like to call “Overkill”.

The Ownership of Assault Rifles, and the mad need to buy them all up is based on fear, mistrust, and crazy morons that don’t like common sense, like the NRA, and any Right Wing nutjob who thinks we are getting rid of all guns (we aren’t btw).

Gun Control is not the ultimate solution, and too many people think that is the case. It’s not. It’s Part of the solution. There are many issues that must be resolved, and Gun Control is one of them.

In August of 2012, I chose to make the move to becoming a streamer on Twitch.

Since then.....I have made little progress.

I have noticed that in my 5 months of "casting", I have had more trouble with xsplit than anything. My machine can handle running it, but it's such a resource hog. On top of that, it keeps derping on me. What the Hell man?

Of all the things I've done on PC's, running a streaming app is by far the most mind-boggling thing I've ever done.

FFSplit crashes on me too. What I want to do is simple - Stream myself playing and talking about retro games. How hard is that? Quite hard, if you ask me.

I want to stream my ass off, and soon I will.

So, let me tell ya what I like to stream - I've always been a fan of Retro Games, mainly because that's what I played when I was a little baby, the classic games.

I'm also a fan of Indie, and Arcade games too.
I would like to stream some games I have on Steam, but I need to get a better graphics card (the one I have won't do at all)

If you want to check out my twitch channel click the link below:

And don't let the name confuse you. godofskonckers or godofknockers - either way you pronounce it, you're right :)

I know this is a short Blog, but not to worry - I'll have a stuff to blog about very soon.
Until then, Happy New Year, and try on to vomit on yourself, other people, the dog or any piece of furniture - like I did. SMDH

When I say "WE", I'm not talking about just Women, or just Men, I'm talking about Gamers.

Yeah, I could've said "Both men and Women", but this is not a He/She issue, and I don't see Gamers like that anyways. If you can hold a controller, and have good hand/eye coordination, you are a Gamer - genetics don't matter. Hence, this is a Gamer Issue.

Remember the good ol' days of gaming, when a character in a game was just that - a character?
We didn't care if it was a man or a woman who was the hero; We focused on the fact that we were playing a good, challenging and all-around fun game.

What about that time when we all played "Metroid" (NES) for the very first time? Did we care if the hero had an "Innie" or an "Outie" in the crotch area? Balls no, I say (But yes, I was both surprised and stoked that Samus was a woman).

We were playing a good game. High reply value, good storyline, kick ass music, solid controls and even though we had a pause button so we could go to the bathroom, we kept on playing until our bladders couldn't hold out anymore....and yes, that has happened to me about 23 times since I've been playing games.

Yeah, video games are amazing...

...yet, nowadays, we are talking about that pressing issue that keeps popping up every time we turn around - Sexism.

A woman can and should be a smart character in a video game - but god forbid if she has a slim body and big boobs. Or long, sexy legs, or skimpy outfits.

Seriously, since when does Sexism hold any place in the gaming society? Since when is it wrong for a female video game character to show her sex appeal and her huge brain?

Why can't a Video Game Vixen be Smart AND Hot at the same time?

A good example is of the iconic Lara Croft.

Ever since the iconic "Tomb Raider" came out to the PS1 and PC, people were (and still are), charmed by this awesomely awesome treasure hunter/mystery seeker/puzzle solving heroine.

But over the years, even she (Croft), has been plagued with scrutiny for being too sexy from women and even some guys.

Wha????

Why is that? What is so wrong with a woman showing sexual independence and intelligence all at once?

Why must it be one or the other? You can look hot, but you MUST be dumber than a box of rocks. On the Flip side, you can be smart as a whip that can travel to other dimensions, but you can't show off any skin.

The same thing can be said of lady gamers. They can be disrespected sometimes, and there are some guys who think they are just a pretty face, and suck at gaming. That's total BS.

What we, the gaming community is dealing with here, is a complex called the "Dumb Blonde" - a very old and highly outdated concept that so focuses on certain features or the body female, which is in turn part of the "You know what they say about Blondes/Brunettes/Redheads" Complex/Cliche. Goes Something like this:

If you are a Blonde, your brains are in your boobs.
If you are a Brunette, you are a cold and frigged woman, who relies on her brains, and not her body.
If you are a Redhead....um....I forget what they say about Redheads, but I'm pretty sure its not nice.

The Concept is dumb as hell. Since when does hair color have anything do to with a woman's intelligence? And please, I really don't want to entertain a "Study" or "Research" that proves hair color determines intellect. Those are biased anyways.

This Concept/Complex/Cliche, whatever you want to call it, has managed to sneak into our culture, and we just can't seem to avoid it. So, who put it there?

We did. The Gamers. And we need to stop that.

The main reason we gamers love the lady vixens is NOT just because of their bodies, we love the fact that they can kick ass and take names in video games. The Same goes for Lady Gamers. Face it: Lady gamers are cute and sexy, and they can play the hell out of video games - and that's cool beans.

To continue this stupid notion that a woman, real or not, must be either Smart or Sexy, but not both, must stop being commonplace amongst Gamers and the masses. If I see a sexy woman, I'm not thinking if she is dumb - I want to know how smart she is. I hope she is a smart as me.

And yes, I might fantasize about what she might look like I she was dressed up as Chun-Li, but that's not disrespectful to do so. And so this doesn't sound one-sided, women fantasize about men too, and that's awesomesauce. We're only human, and its our nature to do that. But getting back to the point at hand...

Finding an intellectual equal with an amazing body, is what I like and admire. We all want that. No "one or the other" crap. No man or woman wants a hot dummy. It's not attractive or sexy.

In the Gaming World, we, and when I say "we" a mean Men and Women, like our sexy Gamers/characters with big brains to go with the sexy bodies. There is nothing wrong or sexist with anyone admiring a sexy woman who can kick ass and stand up for themselves.

If you need Proof that gamers like sexy and strong women: look at all the funk raised about the New "Tomb Raider" game. It's all on Kotuku. You can read about it here if you want: http://kotaku.com/5965680/the-perilous-process-of-reinventing-lara-croft

I don't want to protect Lara Croft - I want her to solve puzzles and kick a ton of bad guy ass.
I've made my point many times as you have read this, but I'll make it plain and simple: "ALL GAMERS WANT A WOMAN WHO IS SMART AND SEXY." Accept it. It is what it is.

Thanks for reading.

This is gonna be a short blog post. But the purpose speaks volumes.

Windows 8 HATES GAMERS.

I know a LOT of people who are in LOVE with Windows 8. Yes, It is Faster than 7, and even though it sucks in the "I don't default to the Desktop you love so much, and the Start menu thingy looks weird on your PC, but I'm cool on tablets....somewhat" department, I do like some of the improvements in the visuals.

But....um....there is one thing I can't get down with....I can't play any games on it.
It's true. There are a TON of games that I can and do play in Windows 7, and they run without any errors or tweaks.

But in Windows 8, they keep crashing like a super drunk female college student at a frat party.
And so we are clear, I made sure that my PC can play these games. I made sure to install DirectX 9 Drivers for compatibility, as most of these games do use DirectX 9, and every game derped - HARD.

If you ever wondered what Bullet Hell Looks like if it was in OS form, it would look like Windows 8.

I don't see what the point of this OS is for - unless you plan on making apps for Windows RT with VS2012, there is no other point in getting/upgrading to Win8.

There was quite a number of games that I really wanted to play on Win 8, and I am totally disappointed that I couldn't.

Here is a list of all the games I attempted to play. Every one of them DERPED:

Doom 3 <--- SO WANTED TO PLAY THIS.
Tyrian 2000 (GOG)
Guilty Gear X2 (GOG)
Steam Games
Painkiller
Rise of the Triad(GOG)
Descent 1,2,3 Freespace 1 and 2 (GOG)*
Angry Birds (ANY)

*(Note: These games were tested by someone else who owns those games. Thank you "Jacky")
Yes, all of those games can and do play in windows XP and 7 - in 8, Forget it. Not Gonna happen.

It sucks that Microsoft would completely ignore us gamers. It's like we are some kind of abomination to the PC world.

I am a gamer. Everyone Games. Everyone loves to play video games, and yes, some, if not most of us like to play PC games.

Windows 8 has done a grand job in pissing me, and my fellow gamers off, and I take high offense that Microsoft would create such a lopsided OS. A Good OS can accommodate users of all types, and Windows 8 clearly wasn't made for that.

It sucked in the Preview - it sucked in the RC, and it sucks in the final release.
This OS is not for Gamers, Windows 8 hates gamers...

...But....It does look good though.

They are the 3 letters that can make us PS3 gamers happy, or just plain piss us the hell off.

D.L.C.

For those of you who have on idea what that means (I'm talking to you PS3 Newbies out there), It stands for DownLoadable Content. It's supposed to be "Extra stuff", or an "Add-on/enhancement" to that kick ass game you spent money on, that may make you late on a few important bills you have to pay this month, or last month, however you look at it. If you want it, all you gotta do is break out your credit card and pay for it...

....Or you can just beat the game and get it for free.

That's right - all those special costumes and powerful weapons you are drooling over; The ones you WISH you had from minute one, can be yours at a price. Or, If you are a real cheap bastard with some time to kill, just knuckle the hell down and beat the damn game, and the content is all yours.

This is the rub with most game titles that have DLC: all the goodies are already in the game, on that game disc you just popped in, waiting for you to earn, by either beating the game or earning a few achievements. Here's how it works:

You have a game, and discover that there is DLC available for it online. You drop X amount of bucks for it and it's all yours. The Servers that you get the content from download it to your PS3, and make a few changes to your Game's Settings, which it stored on your PS3's HDD. After a few moments, boom - it's all yours.

And as you are enjoying all those sweet extras, someone, somewhere has beaten the game, and/or earned an achievement, and some or all the goodies have been unlocked. And they didn't have to pay a dime.

And, when you come to realize that you got screwed royal out your money, 100% of the time you WILL feel like this:

Now don't feel upset - this happens to everyone. Even the most seasoned gamers have been burned by DLC Trickery.

If this has just happened to you here is a pic of Ivy from the Soulcaliber Series to help calm you down:

And so the ladies don't feel left out, here is a pic of Naked Raiden from Metal Gear Solid 2:

Guys - if you can tolerate it in the game, you'll have no problems here. Deal with it.

By now, you are asking yourself:
So why does DLC exist in the first place?
There are two ways we can answer that question:

1. Because people want everything. NOW.
Some people don't want to wait until they game is beat - they want to go in with that little extra something. An advantage against the game, as it were, and its these guys (and gals) that are willing to pay for it. It's like entering into a situation with the gift for foresight on your side - you can see what's coming, and dodge/duck/dive/dip and...um...Dodge it, like a boss (Nice "Dodgeball" reference, yes?). Often times, people won't really care if the content is available after you beat the game, or do something special - if they can afford it, and want it so badly, they are willing to pay for it.

2. Because people want "New Content"
Let's face it - sometimes, when you finish a game, you wish there was more of it to enjoy. Something new and fresh to play with, and there is nothing wrong with that. That is the main reason DLC is supposed to exist: to add new content that doesn't exist for the game, in it's current form. The problem is that sometimes, designers can get lazy and just include the locked extras in the DLC, slap a price tag on it, and call it a day. And that sucks.

To be fair: Not all DLC is bad or total BS - there is DLC that really does have new content that doesn't suck, and really is worth that money, but the the rub is that the new content can and does get mixed in with the crappy DLC at times.

And if you get that, as I explained before, it can possibly lead to almost having the best rage quit ever, as demonstrated in this video by Achievement Hunter 'Rage Quit' Michael at Rooster Teeth:

Also, don't play "Catherine" - it looks like its a very hard game.

But I digress - We now bring ourselves to the actual solution to the problem.
So, how does one avoid all this mess, the rage quits, and wasted money?

Simple - beat the game you are playing FIRST, then look at the DLC content, if any. Makes sense right? Finish the game, get the goodies, then check out the DLC. Increases the chances of finding actual original content, thus allowing you to make a proper choice.

Plus, It's more rewarding that way - knowing that you earned all those extras, through hard work and kickassary - yes, you read that right. Kickassary.

So there, I'm done. This concludes the The Newbies Guide for DLC (PS3 Edition). May the words in the guide lead you to a grand life of gaming, where ever you are in the world.

Oh, and the XBox sucks.
The End.

People, a tragedy has befallen the gaming community.

If you have the G4 Network on your Cable, Satellite or IPTV Service, and you surf the web for things other than porn, then you already know the news:

The G4 Network has Cancelled "Attack of the Show" and "XPlay".

The Network is rebranding itself, and apperently, there is no room for these two shows anymore. The Programs will continue to run till December, and then, that's it.

Seriously -

Between the two shows, they've aired 3000+ Shows (1700+ for AOTS and 1300+ for Xplay), and have been around for a decade.

Now look, I get that change happens everyday, and the G4 Network was/is long overdue for a retooling, but to get rid of your two best shows in the process?

That's just dumb.

Another thing that bothers me: G4 has been slowly moving away from the Gamer Appeal for quite some time now, and instead of trying to rebrand the network to the modern gamer, rumor has it it's going for the “modern male” audience.

The Modern Gamer IS a “modern male” audience, but it would seen that they are leaning towards a more GQ-like style, or what I like to call - "Douche-y".

The Average Gamer is in his mid 30's, and rather tech savvy, but some if not most people think that.

G4, when It was good, was truly the Network for gamers, and after all these years, they have slowly moved further and further away from that concept. They sound like most people who don't play Video Games at all:

"Video Games are for kids. Grow up"

Nothing could be further from right and truthful.

Video Games aren't just for Kids anymore - they are for Men and Women who enjoy taking Violence and blood, Language, Boobs and Strong sexual content for granted. For people to still believe that Video Games are for kids and the immature is a grand insult on so many levels, and I take G4's move to rebrand itself to that extent.

But I digress.

Change is unavoidable. Everything Changes no matter what, I get that and I accept it.
But, the trick is, and they wont teach you this in any book, classroom or TV Show, is you can to a certain degree, control the changes you make for yourself, so you don't change too much for the worse.

Like Many shows and Networks before during and after it, G4 did not learn this lesson, because it looks to be sailing into the violent storm of uncertainty, which I call, "Why does this network exist".

Good luck to you G4 Network - I still hope you don't make the same mistake many have made before you, but I've think its too late.

I'll watch Attack of the Show and Xplay to their very end. But after that, I'm gonna move on. I'll always be a gamer. I come from a family of Gamers - It's in my blood. I thought G4 got that about me, but It looks like was wrong.

*Bloggers Note: This is a Very SFW Text-version of a Podcast I did about G4 on 10/28/2012 - If you would like to listen to the VERY NSFW Podcast, you can do so here (Via Soundcloud)*
