Black Ops 2 DLC Revolution - Activision accidentally confirms new expansion

UPDATE: Map details spotted on Amazon

Activision has given the game away as regards Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's Revolution expansion, outed over Christmas. A trailer for the pack appears to have been published to the official Call of Duty mobile website. It's gone now, but MP1st was able to snap a few pictures.

According to leaked retailer materials, the pack contains four maps - Hydro, Grind, Mirage and Downhill - plus the Zombies map Die Rise (quite possibly "The Rise" in German, pointing to a European jaunt for the next helping of Zombies Mode). There's also a new SMG, the Peacekeeper. Fear not, shambling undead goons! Soon, you'll be at peace. You'll all be at peace.

Black Ops 2 Revolution is said to release 29th January on Xbox Live. Stoked?

Update: Friend of the People @TheSpartanCentr has spotted a now-pulled Amazon listing for Revolution, which includes details of the new maps and weapon. Here you go:

Hydro - This large map allows you to use the dam and water to your advantage to block paths and stop enemies.

Downhill - A medium-sized map based in the French Alps complete with snow, chair lifts, and a strategically placed lodge.

Grind - Set within the locale of the Venice, California boardwalk, this small skate park map is sure to deliver fast and frenetic Call of Duty action.

Mirage - This Gobi Desert multiplayer map utilizes sand dunes to provide different levels of elevation and a sanctuary in the center as a natural chokepoint.

Zombies - Die Rise - The Zombie apocalypse has invaded China, turning down town into a dilapidated and dangerous MC Escher painting.

Peacekeeper SMG - This impressive sub-machine gun fills the open weapon slot in your load-out with power and accuracy.

  1. 4000 msp for a bunch of maps – the price of a new game, absolutely disgusting and I really hope that the season pass is not successful for this rendition of Call of Duty, because if it is, then the pricing of these passes will continue to rise and this ridiculous cost will become the norm. I spoke with my son-in-law about the pass the other day, and he said he wouldn’t buy it as he was only interested in having anything zombie related. I said to him then that he wouldn’t be able to buy zombie related DLC separately from everything else, and it would appear that I am right. When they’re charging so much for the DLC, there should be an option to buy (at a lesser amount) just that which you want, without being forced to either miss out on what you would like to have, or pay through the nose for stuff you don’t.

Forgive me if I am blind and didn't see this but where did you get 4000msp from? Last I saw this was priced up at 1200msp.

Edit sorry re read your post and now I feel like an idiot.

  3. game pass is 4000 points which will be all 4 (guessing its 4) DLCs over 2013, an individual pack (4 mp maps + zombie stuff) is usually 1200 points. i never know what the fuss is about really, if you want them buy them, if you dont - dont.

I think you missed the point of my comment - for those willing to shell out 4000 points to have a bunch of maps - that's fine - personal preference and all that. My point was, that there is no choice when it comes to what you want to buy. Gears 3, for example, if you hate multiplayer, but really wanted to buy the campaign content - you could, and you could completely ignore the multiplayer (and obviously vice versa). My point about BLOPS2 is that if you only want additional zombie content, you're stuffed - because you can only get it if you buy the map pack as well and then you have to pay the price of a new game (all future DLC taken together) in order to buy just one small part of it. I would have been much happier if they had priced the zombies DLC for say, 500MSP and the Maps for 800MSP, or combined at a discounted 1200MSP. But as it is, you have to pay a wack of points for content you don't want, to get what you do.

  5. I was really looking forward to this map pack but unfortunately I have just had all my custom classes reset and lost my extra custom class slots, permanent unlocks and all unused level unlock tokens (for that particular prestige) after playing a Local match. I am hoping they sort this out quickly!

Nice to see they are adding new weaponry and sticking with the Black Ops type DLC packs of 4 MP Maps and a Zombie Map.

  6. jeez Bamozzy that sucks dude!!!! we still havent had a game mate, need to sort that out!
good luck getting sorted! as for allusiveturtle, fair point. i dont think we'll ever have that much choice about content though.
